Draft talk 2025/2026

There is certainly not a lot to get excited about for this years Center class. I think the best in the class will be Beau Stephens but I don’t see him starting from day 1 unless it is at LG. I think Lew is probably a year away as well. I have Coogan next and I think he could start from day 1 for a lot of teams but I don’t see the athlete in him to ever be a top center in the NFL,

No there isn’t. I like Stephens quite a bit myself, but yeah, a convert probably isn’t the route to take this season. Hell I’d be fine with Stephens even if we’re not transitioning him to center. Move Tate to C and Mahogany to RG and let Frazier fight it out… BUT that’s awfully young. If we were at the 2022 phase of development I’d like it, but that’s probably too much to ask for next year. But I like the theoretical future of that threesome, but I’d feel a lot better about it with a vet. That said the Seattle interior is very young, and one of them is terrible (Bradford).

I agree with that. For me I’m in the sign Linderbaum camp. There is just too much at stake to go into next year with questions on the O’Line. I think Goff can be okay with a good rookie at OT. but we can’t have the pressure up the middle and we have to be able to run the ball.

I doubt he actually makes it to FA.

My preferred option is Erik McCoy, though of course he requires a trade. I am not Linderbaum’s biggest fan for what he’ll cost, but I understand the idea of screw it, overpay just so it’s not an issue. So I wouldn’t hate it if we went that route. I just think he is going to be terribly, insanely expensive (if he hits FA at all), and I don’t know that he’ll be worth it. Very good player, probably top ten at the position, but not the all-timer as a pro that he was as a prospect imo. Awesome at the second level and in the run game in general, but I don’t know that he’s the best option to stop the pressure up the middle.

It really would be a home run. You’re basically stealing an extra high end starter as his cap number for ‘26 would be that of a vet journeyman depth guy. Same applies to the Saints of course so what’s the draft pick compensation? There is of course some serious injury/durability concerns. You know what that means…

I’d be down with that. Prefer it if no Decker. If we have Decker for another year I might go for either more upside or value at OT.

I like Tiernan and Roush. I don’t expect Roush to last that long so in this case it would be a great pick.

Me either

I think Sam Roush is underrated and it would be a gift if we got him there.

He’s probably my 2nd favorite TE for the Lions… Raridon being #1… I think both could go in the 3rd/4th

We need a “complete” TE, too many of those guys can’t block.

Yep, which is why I like those two over the others

I think Dae’quan Wright could be one of those guys, he has the size to block if can man up.

Lol he’s #3 on my list for the Lions!! We have the same profile for TE fits

I’m from IOWA, got a pretty good idea what I want in a TE.

Lol no doubt, unfortunately there’s no Iowa TE in this draft

No, but there’s one with Houston on a reserve/futures contract, Luke Lachey. I would poach him in a second.

I remember the name so there’s a decent chance I liked something about him
