If y’all want to nerd out. Background, performance overview, scheme fingerprint, performance in high leverage, play call distribution, player lift, game script identity … blah, blah, blah.
Dense but fun I think. If you get depressed with Petzing’s data just sort to 2024 and then do this …
Obviously, every OC is in there. DCs coming soon and then the chess match functionality.
Maybe not. Ben is only at 9% in/dig for his career. I’ll need to add a compare expander so two different OCs can be compared along those sorts of lines. Also important to note these are percentages of targets thrown to a certain route. NFLverse does not tag all routes of a play. Just where the ball is thrown to.
Right. I need a new acronym. I liked the joke but that is not what it will be upon public dissemination bc of the ever present link between sophomoric people and football fans.
Anybody have an idea for an awesome three letter acronym for general performance/achievment?
Yes. If diminutive Powder is the aesthetic of a good OC then we are in great shape. Conversely Billy Corrigan is a renowned asshole so we may be screwed. I’m going to assign the assholeishness to his height therefore we’re good.
I wonder how the explosive pass play stuff will change now that he’s got bona fide explosive pass catchers? The talent overlap on that Arizona roster was pretty astounding, a lot of guys who won in short areas and precisely zero field stretchers. Odd way to build out a roster when you’re so run heavy.
The OC landing page needs to have cross sort leaderboards so that you can easily see which OCs do the most of what. That and a compare contrast expander for coach to coach comparison seem obvious as must adds.
But today is my tenth anniversary and I’d prefer not to get a “put that laptop away” so tomorrow I guess.
