Driskel, IMO,, looks pretty dam good for a back up

You are probably right here. I’m not completely impressed with Driskel. He has some upside though. I’m more impressed with Bevell’s scheme so far.

What are the costs/benefits for Kap? He’s not going to be appreciably better than Driskel to make the drama worthwhile. He’s 6 years older too, might as well develop Jeff and see if he’s worth keeping as a backup next year. Would still prefer to draft the heir apparent and keep 3 QBs.

I’d love a trade up for Young, a backup QB and a RT in the draft. Well, that’s after free agency so I’m getting ahead of myself after Young. But… I’m willing to trade picks for Young. Maybe next year’s first.

Kap isn’t worth the trouble. Without going down “that road” suffice to say that if we were in a playoff hunt and we needed a QB, then maybe. But what’s the point now? All the grief that comes with Kap for a backup position. It’d be one helluva a distraction I guessm whether you are okay with his schtick or not. LOL. But they won’t risk alienating fans for a loser. JMO.

Driskel was a guy I “scouted” coming out and liked him, he’s got good size for the position and can do some things Stafford has trouble doing at times i.e. escaping pressure, fluid movement to the flats for a throw…but then he doesn’t do anything with it. I’m just not sure on his football IQ.

Someone reading my posts?

he has led the offense well enough to win both those games. it’s not his fault that for whatever reason we’ve changed our defense into a ‘hope the offensive player falls down’ scheme.

I’m tempted to start him in fantasy this week. Had 49 points the last 2 weeks, Matt Ryan got me a whopping 34 total points.

LOL. How I wish that wasn’t true. Funny stuff.

I like him. I’m glad the article mention his lack of aggressiveness downfield. I have been holding my tongue bc I wasn’t sure if I was being unfair to him as a backup to expect him to be throwing more downfield but it seemed liked there were a few plays to be made…I was watching clips of the game and Marvin hall got open a few times and he settled for a shallow route…maybe as he gets more comfortable he will throw it deep more. I am excited to see him in person and get a better look live at the play as it opens up…I do think he is a keeper though and overall have been very impressed.

Driskel does seem very capable as a backup. But it is early.

My father in law did the last two weeks (has stafford) and has gotten 28 and 31 points out of him…I think he would be a good start against this skins defense.

Sign me up as a Driskel supporter. I do think there were a few times he mighta got a 1st down with his legs and didn’t with his arm, but he’s a backup for a reason. I suspect he will be the starter again on Sunday in DC, let’s see if he can get us a win.

I hope so. Not only because I’m forced to start him after Stafford’s injury and a bye week for Murray. It would be nice to see the kid get a win on the road. Would be a great boost of confidence for him. I’d feel much better about the backup QB situation in 2020 if he continues to progress.
