Sam LaPorta, Jack Campbell shine in NFL debuts as Detroit Lions upset Kansas...
Two Iowa favorites, Sam LaPorta and Jack Campbell, shined in their first NFL game. Each played a role in the Lions’ upset of the Chiefs.
LaPorta especially. You often hear about TE being such a difficult position for rookies. He played like 80% of the snaps, didn’t really make any rookie mistakes, and chipped in with 5 catches for 40 yards and had a couple nice blocks. That dude could be the next Travis Kelce - Notice the jersey numbers!
He balled out. It seemed all of the top rookies were NFL ready and I credit the scouts and staff for making them ready to go day 1.
Holmes really is a wizard. Last year several of our best players were rookies. Hutch, Kerby, Houston. The year before he got Sewell, Alim and St. Brown.
Now we got Gibbs, LaPorta, Branch and Captain Jack.
■■■■ these drafts are good. They really should only get better. And I’m not even mentioning a certain WR who didn’t play last night.
Don’t worry Green will see the field soon.
