I think he’s the guy on the right who rakes the horse stalls at the track.

I think he’s the guy on the right who rakes the horse stalls at the track.

My main hope is that he’s healthy enough to become “depth”. Anything more than that is a bonus to me.
I also really wanted Renardo Green with that pick if we went corner.
Today I learned about a term called “meeking a horse”
It means to “make a wild horse gentle, obedient and controlled”
Who knew
Meek can be a verb who knew
Also it does not come up as a word unless you say “meeking a horse” then you get tons of hits and even videos
Just being healthy and staying healthy - maybe getting some defensive snaps in the few blowouts that’ll hopefully go the Lions’ way; maybe even earn some defensive snaps that really matter in the second half of –
WHOA.
Sorry. Getting carried away.
Just being healthy and staying healthy would be awesome.
I agree with the author. He is a wild card. Might never play important snaps, might get injured, might not make the team, might be a solid player for us. Wild card. Not counted on. But very nice to have in the mix.
Ennis is no more a wildcard than any other player we pick up off the streets that had some potential but gets injured all the time.

But seriously, if he’s been working hard in the areas he’s been able he could show up with some game. Rookie jitters are gone and hopefully he’s developed in the non physical areas. Maybe he just caught a bad beat and will play often and well this season. I still hold out a little hope that he can be a dude if he’s not asked to stick his nose in to too much contact.
Or maybe he’s defensive Charles Rogers.
He just needs to change his name to something more sturdy.
Instead of Ennis Rakestraw maybe Leon Layiron. Guaranteed to be tougher
The Defense begins @DC, if he is lacking, not educated or experienced enough at his job, the defense suffers for that and ranks lower. I never saw a DC that was GREAT for us, I’ve seen our D guys out of shape, fragile -as their always injured/not playing that much, or they are whiffing, not wrapping up and tackling the man they have to block or stop, they can be a little late, they can be gassed by the 2nd-3rd quarter. our front 7 can look ok, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot if the rest of them are struggling. ranking 18th or 19th is plain bad, often times our offense is doing well, but not getting the help they need from our defense all that much, offensive players slip up to, which only adds to the frustration, combined we don’t win as much as we should be, and we sure as hell don’t accomplish what we want, even reaching 15 wins isn’t much IF you don’t get the homerun with it and get left out-like we did. a few papercuts will end your ass, The Loins are the meaning of that, BECAUSE it’s always some messed up little thing keeping us from playoffs and bowls.
I dunno. I’m a big fan of his game. I think he can be the same guy drafted. He’s very far off his ACL injury in college and he had successful shoulder surgery. You guys aren’t wrong, but i don’t want to give up on the guy yet. That’s why he’s the wild card to me.
I am not putting my hopes and dreams for this defense in the lap of Ennis Rakestraw.
The Lions aren’t winning a Super Bowl bc of their defense in the sense that their defense leads the way. If they win a super bowl it will because of their elite offense and a defense that was good enough. There are pieces to this defense that when healthy it can be a top 10 unit, but a top 15 (middle of the pack) defense is sufficient. If you are hoping for a top defense and Ennis to lead the way….God Bless you.

I think he will be buried on the depth chart. Might go down as a horrible trade up
And a bunch of luck. That’s always more of the Lombardi hoisting recipe than most want to admit.
We are due for some good luck on the injury front. The football gods have not been kind to us.
He was a disaster when he did play in the preseason too

Just so hard to improve when you rarely can practice.

Count on him the same way we counted on Davenport and whats his name the san Fran cb. I already forgot his name because i never saw him play
