Falcons Won't Cut Kirk Cousins Ahead Of Bonus Trigger

Because this board is hard uofm fans. And it really has nothing to do with what school he went to at all. The dude was day 3 pick, low 3 star recruit, and made millions. He deserves credit

I think he definitely deserves credit, has been a good long time QB in the NFL.

However, not sure he would be in my top ten options at QB to lead my preferred team at when looking at the last ten years.

Which, as you said, wasn’t your criteria.

Very talented and hardworking QB. Gritty.

But Vikings fans will tell you he folds under the bright lights and so they were glad to move on from him when they did.

I think Jerry Rice made 46 million in his career. Just think about some of these wr contracts being thrown around now.

The achilles tear really sucked for him…cause he was playing well in 2023 before it. Did not look the same post injury.

Not all time but his stats are up there. If you talk about winning i agree. Past 10 years he is in the top 10 in almost everything

I guess we can say the same thing about Goff and at one point Stafford, and lets not forget about the great Dan Marino. I mean he is a top 10 qb all time, but never won nothing

Kirk was pretty good. No doubt about that. If you’re putting together the all-time Sparty team he’s an easy pick for QB.

Speaking of Marino… I saw a graphic last week comparing qb’s and I had forgot just how many INT’s Marino threw. He had 4 seasons with more than 20 ints thrown.

Thats actually crazy stat.

Favre did it 5 times. Some real gunslingers. Huge td numbers but tons of picks. Throwing 20 plus picks in 16 games gets you benched nowadays.

He was one of the most durable players in NFL history until his Achilles tear. Atlanta is a horrible fit for him and he wasn’t fully healthy last year. The guy wins at the line of scrimmage because he is so smart, he is also extremely accurate and tough. Probably the most underrated QB I can ever remember.

I knew farva did, but never dano

In all seriousness, I think you have to remember that Marino played in a different era. Before the NFL “cared” about player safety. When guys like Mark Carrier were routinely trying to decapitate receivers with helmet spears. When anything in the 80s was considered a really good QB rating. That’s more like 100 now. It’s a major reason I’m not impressed with the gaudy stats of a lot of these modern players, like Eli for example. It’s relatively new rule enforcement and it doesn’t take a great player to do it.

I miss safeties destroying dudes over the middle! Bennie Blades style.

Marino is one of the best QB’s I have ever watched and you are spot on with regards to QB’s in different era’s.

He played today with these rules and his quick release…damn…

They’re waiting for Minnesota to fall on their face, so, they can trade him back to them.

Possible first ever 6,000 yard QB depending on his team.

I can make an argument that he’s one of the most overrated QBs ever. How in the world has he made 330+ million but has only made the postseason 4 times? And has only won 1 playoff game?

There’s plenty to go against him for not being a top 10 QB over the last decade. And the only thing in his favor are statistics.

There has definitely been a couple seasons where I would say he’s top 10. But more times than not I don’t think that’s the case. Same with Goff BTW for what it’s worth…
