For Those Who Want to "Just Draft a QB"

It’s frustrating to read a post-win thread and watch it deteriorate because of a “Stafford missed a throw, therefore he sucks” comment. I think it’s underestimated how hard it is to actually acquire a competent quarterback who can perform at Stafford’s level for any length of time.

Here is every QB taken 4th round or earlier since Stafford was drafted. Not many move-the-needle guys, and a ton of hot garbage that I wouldn’t want if they played for free.

Point is, it’s not real easy to just “go draft a quarterback”.

ok bro, but we are going to keep parading QB’s in here to back up Stafford…probably draft one in 2020.
Stafford isn’t going anywhere for another two seasons “at least.” so it’s all about the back up position @ QB for a while.

and there are some nice options to be had.

Which is why I have to chuckle a little every time I hear/read about dumping Stafford.

And replace him with who? A cheap rookie, I guess. That should be easy enough, right?

LOL- he’d be a good backup.
Wonder what Mathew would have looked like playing on those teams? Awesome RBs, WRs, TEs, a good OL, and also great defenses.
