Former Lions RT Rick Wagner cut by Packers

I’d get him for a veteran minimum.

I guess the Lions are done paying his salary?

I don’t think I would. He got the big money and didn’t try very hard to earn it IMHO. I’d rather look for an up-and-comer who has the tools and the motivation to bust his ass.

I understand. But there aren’t any up and comers that will come cheap. And we need cheap depth.

Fact: The Lions paid more for Wagner not to play last season than the Packer paid him to play.

I suspect we will be seeing a lot of cuts like this as teams start to try to get under the projected cap number. Most will come once the NFL announces the official number.

As for Wagner. He really struggled with the Packers holding hug technique. So Rogers fired him.

I think he is considering retirement

Solid right tackle when healthy for the Ravens but we massively overpaid for him and he just couldn’t stay healthy. He was giving up way too much pressure on the right side the last two years he was here.

Barrett absolutely dominated him in the NFC championship game. There were a few times that Wagner didn’t stand a chance.

I’m happy with rolling with Crosby and a young guy next year at RT and we need to see if we can get something out of Vaiatai at right guard plus try to bring in a cheap vet to compete.

Crosby was decent last year, obviously we need competition at the position, but I wouldn’t be surprised he continues to start next year.

Bill Crosby or Bing Crosby?

Wags stole money from the packers and lions. Could the vikes or bears be next

Crosby Crosby and Crosby and Crosby and associates

Didn’t have a penalty all season including playoffs. Allowed 1/2 sack for the season
Seems like he took to their system well.

Right. Veterans aren’t used to it, since they’ve been called for it on other teams.
