I have Adhd. Patience isnt a thing for me.
Our old friend Will Harris is now a Commie. Didn’t know he had 94 tackles last year for NO. Still not replacing Chinn.
Commies are doomed next year now. Wait till Goff chucks a 15 yard in to St and Harris is 10 yards behind him
There was some thought we might be interested since our DL coach came from there. Probably telling that we weren’t.
Finally a move by them I don’t hate. Guy’s a legit game-changer even if it’s at a niche spot.

Other than the Vikings throwing their cap out the window, been a pretty quiet day
No thats a guy i could see the Lions going after. However his run D isnt great. Similar to Z smith.
But Z has a better run D and over all pressure rate.
Floyed has a better sack rate.
But more options the better
I tried on a Shoyinka once.

I like the idea of either DeMarcus Lawrence or Leonard Floyd. The good news for us is, more options means more negotiation room.
Floyd is a lighter DE, but that’s not a bad thing. We’ve got a lot of beef at DE. We could use some quicks. Josh Paschal is a big DE, but watching him chase down a QB who was flushed out is just embarassing. In fact, that was how he hurt himself was trying to chase down Josh Allen. In today’s running QB era, you have to have someone who can run them down when they get outside. Looking at Philly’s star defense that everyone is trying to emulate, they have one big end and one smaller pursuit end. We used to be similar with Cliff Avril and Jason Jones back in the Schwartz days.
Hutch does an excellent job of getting pressure and moving the QB off of the spot. We all know that sacks don’t mean everything, and pressures are critical. However, pressures also are meaningless is the QB can just run to the other side of the field and take a quick throw away or scramble for plus yardage. You have to have the DE on the other side who can get free and pursue the QB, especially on 3rd down situations. This is also why I am saying we need to get a smaller, fast LB on the field who can help in these situations as well.
The Lions preach (rightly so) about playing complimentary football. My question is, who is complementing Hutch? It is not Josh Paschal. That dream died pretty early on. Lawrence is a bit bigger, very close in size to what Zadarius is. He is good against the run and still gets sacks. He is coming off an injury, so we know what that means in terms of the Lions liking him.
Floyd would give us more versatility, even if he is weaker against the run. Our run defense is top 5. I would be ok with it sliding to top 7 if we can finally move up the sacks board. I am sure Hutch would appreciate not having to literally do everything on the defensive line by himself, and we can still draft another edge to develop behind both of these guys.
Edit: As a quick note, Tom Grossi actually had the Lions getting Za’Darius pegged well. He said that Za’Darius would come in and be a house of fire to start, but that he gradually slides back to not doing much of anything. I think that is very accurate to what we saw. He had a couple good games, but also a lot of disappearing stretches.
I think that a lot of remaining guys require visits bc of medicals.
I’d be okay both tbh. They’re kind of on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of what they offer. Though both isn’t realistic.
I think Lawrence is much, much more of a culture fit.
I would love Lawrence
I would to love add any dline player.
It’s my middle name so the signing would be personalized Jersey adjacent for me.
You’re in the wrong State then because a Husker middle name that start with an L should Lincoln
Underrated college town IMO. Though I’ve only been on game weekends so my view is probably not indicative of it’s default state.
I agree the Lions could use more speed on the D-Line in general. Hutch is their rush end and they don’t have a very good backup Rush End.
Josh is the Big End and would be great to have more speed. But generally in pass rush situations the Lions want that Big End to collapse the pocket and create a back-stop so the QB can’t escape to his side. The Rush End will get the sack. Hutch has the speed (1.61 10 yd split) to chase down some QB’s who are trying to pass and Floyd was much more explosive coming out of college (1.59 10 yd split).
The Good thing about Davenport is that he is interchangeable and can play both Rush end and Big End.
I like Floyd because he is reliable, available and productive pass rusher. He would be a great addition to the Lion Edge Rushers with Hutch, Davenport, Paschal, and a high draft rookie.
