Anyone else here garden? Mine has taken off. Two beefsteaks, two romas, a cherry, two poblanos, a serrano and two straight eights. Have another bed with cantaloupe that was looking good but now it’s struggling. Picked some serranos and a cucumber this morning.

Cucumbers
Rattlesnake Peppers (picked one and WAY too early…)
Strawberries (season over but plants still going strong)
Rhubarb (strawberry rhubarb pie…’nuff said)
And some volunteer potatoes and squash in the compost pile.

I HATE gardening, too many times, my mother wanted a garden-I rototilled her one bout three different times, she’ll run out and plant seeds-then I have to water the shit, keep it weeded, help her pick and can it-then she decides to let it die off…so I hate that crap.
YOU want a garden ladies? then YOU take care of some of it .
Luck. It’s a community garden so some of the beds are lower than ours and I figure they hit those first. Or the smell of the organic fertilizer.
I’m incredibly good at growing weeds in my lawn.

The biggest “rascal” we have to deal with is rabbits. Perk of living in town
In the past, we have used hot pepper spray. Dilute hot sauce in water and spray on the plants. Rabbits will go in. Once. Pepper in the eyes and they won’t be back.
Deer? Good luck.

After you pepper spray the rabbits, hit them with a frying pan and then you got dinner almost ready to go

I am an avid gardener. I have a year supply of asparagus and broccoli already in the freezer. Cabbage and beets are ready now and they will get fermented with carrots. Sweet potatoes are doing well but won’t be ready until late October here in Erie Pa. Been eating Kale and Romaine lettuce for the last 2 months. Just started getting red tomatoes and peppers. Green beans need picked but it is just too hot to pick em right now. Eggplant and cucumbers seem to be doing well also. Tons of butternut squash coming too.

I have already harvested Cherries and Blueberries, Others to come will be apples, pears, peaches. Almonds. paw paws, grapes and hardy kiwi.

Cucumbers are going very well this year, green onions too(couple hundred of those) Tomatoes starting to come in( mix 1 beefsteak, couple heirloom cherry, couple plum, couple standard size) had a couple banana peppers and bell peppers already too.

Me too!! Although I think they may be a different strain…
We’ve for raised beds with 3 tomato plants (2 cherry 1 beefsteak), zucchini, carrots and green beans

That’s awesome. I’m hoping my cantaloupes are just heat stress and I’m trying to decide what to do with the space that freed up from my romaine and radishes. I’m in Hartford.
