Gibbs Arrow/angle/texas route

This Play was a staple of the Stafford offenses with Riddick but Gibbs is next level.. i want to see this route concept ran way more frequently with him… As an option route, he is uncoverable in man on this route. Thoughts?

I think that was the only thing Riddick was elite at. That was unstoppable with him

I abused the hell out of this play in madden when chris johnson was still in the game it was a cheat code

I hated the way Lombardi tried to used Riddick on 3rd and short.

Everyone except Lombardi knew he couldn’t run between the tackles, and, he tried to “fool” the defense into thinking it was going to be a pass with Riddick, every time.

He was awesome on option routes as well. Theo had great instincts when given a two way go.

You rarely fools teams in the NFL you out execute them

First thing I said in the gameday chat, Theo Riddick route. Devastating. Run it twice a game minimum.

I fixed that for you

True story!

The crazy part is Lombardi and Jim Bob Cooter are still offensive coordinators and doing well in 2025

They are coordinators in Indy and Denver. Both likely playoff teams and in first place

Neither one of them are playcallers. They are in the role that John Morton has recently found himself in.

Still kinda impressive IMO

Great coaches aren’t always great play callers and that’s okay

Props to both making millions and living the dream

The Theo Riddick dead leg was nasty… He was quick, but not fast.

Named my dog Riddick, got him in 2016

I remember when we had joint practices with the Giants. The Giants press who had access to the practices said that Gibbs on the Arrow/Option route is unfair to anyone guarding him…so don’t judge any Giants defensive player who was tasked with it.

Exactly the point I’ve been trying to make.

My favorite play w Gibbs. Run it until they can stop it. (They can’t).

Remember that stankey leg Theo used to give the LB on that angle/choice route? It was borderline unstoppable. The little hesi and burst. It was like playing Madden but in real life. Anyway I agree with OP that Gibbs on the choice out of the backfield on 3rd down would be a huge weapon.

I have a black cat named Spook… You can decide whether or not it’s racist
