Agree w/ the post below. He even makes contact with the defender, and Gibbs is probably still running.

This is somehow worse than the Barnes whiff on Dak last year. Less consequential, obviously, but … damn.
Wondering if he is a bit beat up, otherwise he has had a few of these happen… more than i prefer for a healthy offensive lineman. Mahogany on the other hand has looked better in his limited run.
This is Glasgow.
There are always (with the exception of last year) head-scratching moments with him where his head doesn’t seem screwed on. ALWAYS. (not every play, rather every season.)
These moments were noticeably there during his first stint. For all of the knocks I’ve thrown Quinn’s way, letting Glasgow walk for large free-agent contract was not one of them. Iggy and I used to have mini-squabbles about GG. Love the dude. Love that he’s here and a reliable (mostly) part of one of the league’s best lines, but this is him.
Glasgow has had a tough season. He came back down to Earth a bit. I know others have said we might not re-sign Zeitler because of money but if it’s that tight I’d rather re-sign big Z and cut Glasgow. He’s absolutely been the weak link on the OL.
Hopefully it’s just a tough year with injuries and he bounces back next season…. But he’ll be 33 next season. It’s likely Mother Nature taking her course.
Definitely okay to move on from him. There are usually fine options available to play guard.
I thought the same thing seeing that play live. Gibbs had a good shot at beating those safeties if Graham had even got part of his block. Really only had one to beat depending on which way he cut.
I think we pick a center/guard in the in the second or third round.
I will leave it to the draft gurus here to figure out who would be the best talent and would be a Holmes/ Campbell guy
I think Graham was anticipating Greenard to go wide there and Greenard stopped and that was the result
Exactly
Greenard made a great Linebacker play.
The hesitation and keeping his contain not flying up field. Destroy the play.
The pulling Guard can’t adjust his angle to make up for that.
Oh well, Greenard made a play this is the NFL
Violated the cardinal rule of blocking–if you’re an OL, don’t leave your feet because you can’t block very well while you’re on the ground.
Reminds me of a missed block by Laken Tomlinson (during the playoff loss to Seattle). Lions ran a screen to Zach Zenner which should’ve gone for about 50 yards.
Instead of trying to block Bobby Wagner like you’d expect a huge OL to do, Tomlinson tried to cut block him and completely missed
The play went for 7 yards instead.
Nice little move inside by Greenard, Glasgow did get too wide there… Like he predetermined the angle without reading the player. Perfect example of how one person not doing their job can affect the other 10
But not center and he’s by far our best depth at center.
Agree Glasgow is an invaluable piece to us.
Not only depth, flexibility, and rapport with our OL
He literally is the definition of team player.
He played a new position so Zeitler could slide in and start and dominate.
He’s been solid given the circumstance
At worst. He is a great 6th OL if Dirtbag beats him out for LG next year
Y’all bangin on Glasgow and Decker, better be careful what you wish for.
There are less “perfect” players. Lots of them.

This.
Decker is an above average LT and GG is probably an average LG. Lions fans have been spoiled with elite OL play recently… Never forget the likes of Joe Dahl starting at LG
Glasgow and Decker are definitely on the downsides of their careers. They’re not bad players, but what we see from them now is probably as good as it gets. They’re both warriors though and they won’t let Father Time take them down easily. I expect we’ll see them at their best over the next few weeks as they fight for the ultimate prize.
Ideally gg is backup c-g next yr. Let mahagony beat him out
Glasgow was really bad in Denver. Last year was a pleasant bump in his play, but this year has been more like Denver Glasgow.
But that’s OK. The thing about OL is you just don’t want any weak links. It’s better to have five average guys than 3 studs and 2 weak links. The weak links will just get attacked. And Glasgow’s better than average, so overall it’s fine.
But he can definitely be upgraded.
I’m just saying, we have among the best Olines in football. They deserve our appreciation.
The fact that some are getting a little older and are still performing at such a high level should only make us more appreciative. They’re working harder to maintain it. They’re working through pain they’ve never had to deal with…not watching it on tv.
Here’s to Taylor, Frank, Graham, Kevin, and the young guy.
Fantastic season, Blue Wall!
