Happy Gilmore 2

Its definitely worth watching for anyone who is a Happy Gilmore fan. I loved how many real golfers they had in the movie. It was funny when Jack Nicklaus was ordering a drink at the event, but refused to call it by its common name.

The number of cameos outside of the golf world was beyond anything that I would have imagined. Eminem made an appearance in a role nobody would have expected. :joy:

It’s definitely not the first one, but I really enjoyed it. Though I was also quite lit from some yummy vodky.

Em was great! I couldn’t believe it was him at first

I thought Daly was great, Kelce did a good job (I know many on here don’t like him), and I thought it was cool Sandler got both his girls to play a part.

Then they played off that at the end with the one daughter at rehab

It was also rather funny when Scheffler got arrested

Anybody confirm this? Anyone see the new F4?

Didn’t have high expectations, so I wasn’t disappointed. Better than most sequels. Some funny parts in there. Nicholas, Rory, Scheffler, Emminen, etc.

The Scottie scenes were hilarious. One thing I really liked that that did, was find a way to pay tribute to all of the cast characters who had passed away since the last film. That was a really nice homage to the originals and they work it in well.

If you like and follow youtube movie guys, Critical Drinker and Penguinz0 (Charlie) both posted videos saying they liked the movie. Critical Drinker said it was the best recent super hero movie that’s came out in the past few years.

It’s worth the 90 minutes of your time. I thought Bad Bunny was excellent. Paid excellent homage to the original with some new laughs.

The cameos probably make the movie tho.

Say what you will about Sandler’s movies, I personally enjoy them for what they are, but the guy seems to genuinely care about the people he has worked with in the past. This is a HG2 remembrance of Cameron Boyce, who played his son in Grown Ups, and died at age 20 from a medical condition related seizure.

Watched it last night. It was far better than I was expecting but I went in with very low expectations. It was a fun movie.

I do wonder if the PGA underwrote this.

Wife and I saw it and liked it. I saw that it got panned a bit, but honestly I don’t know what people who knock it were expecting. It’s not like Gone With The Wind 2 here. It’s a zany comedy. They made a point of highlighting just about everyone of consequence from the first one somehow, even ones that have passed on. It certainly wasn’t as bad as Coming to America 2 or anything. Pretty much I’d say if you liked the first one, you’ll enjoy the second one.

Adam Sandler said that Carl Weathers (Chubbs) was originally in the movie and had shot some scenes before he died. When Carl died they had to go back and reshoot. That’s when they had the idea to have Chubbs ā€œsonā€ in the movie.

Carl Weathers was the man.

Definitely worth watching on Netflix. A lot of flashbacks to the original. I give it a 6/10.

Exactly I gave it 5.5 and was sober as a cucumber… Give me some of those @Bols gummies… It might be close to a 7

The whole concept was pretty dumb but the cameos/flashbacks/funny parts saved it

Just watched it. Loved it

The entire concept of the original Happy Gilmore was pretty dumb and would not be a smash hit as a new movie in 2025.

I’m not one that particularly enjoys stupid comedy. Like Naked Gun, Airplane, ect. But I like Adam Sandler and some of his movies. I find most of his movies to be a little stupid. But he has swayed me over the years into liking some of his movies and stupid comedy more.

I liked The Wedding Singer, 50 first dates, Water-boy and Happy Gilmore. So I was a bit excited that he was making a sequel to it.

There’s a lot to like about HG2 and there’s a lot of hidden nuggets in the show to peak one’s intellect and nostalgia. However the storyline was poor …. A better storyline and this movie could have been as good or better than the first. Unfortunately it missed that mark.

Still… I found it enjoyable and worth watching, even for a fan that doesn’t particularly like stupid comedy type
movies.

I’d give it a 6 out of 10 type score though.
