Harbs to the Giants

Dang, you’re right. That’s like getting the first place schedule for the NFC East. Lets hope we play them very very early, while they’re working the kinks out.

What made you like DC before he was hired? Like when he was only a candidate?

Let’s hope we work the kinks out and we won’t have to worry about it.

Great hire IMO

I read this as if we did not have MCDC now he would want Jon Harbs

Which I think when the Lions hired MCDC everyone would have wanted Jon Harb over MCDC.

I do not think this is a hot take :man_shrugging:

He is past his expiry date and is no longer a great coach. He is basically entering Pete Carroll territory. Can no longer really relate to the players, not an X’s and O’s guy, has just been stale for awhile. His brother Jim is still an elite coach. He might still be able to come in and change a culture but I am skeptical.

Very grateful we have Dan Campbell as the Lions head coach.

Huh?

I liked DC after he became HC and everything he’s done. I didn’t have much faith when he was hired

I’m saying if Dan Campbell was not our head coach I would want John Harbaugh.

Of course they will, they are on the Lions 4th place schedule. Lions Luck.

Good hire for a desirable job for any HC. Lots of good pieces but you do deal with the shitty NY media.

I do hate the nickname “Harbs” tho :joy::joy:

Hence my point. Posters often wanna be hindsight geniuses. It’s easy to say who you like and don’t like AFTER something happens.

I wanted Dan because the Miami Dolphins players LOVED and RESPECTED him. My only hope was that he’d be smart enough to hire good coordinators. Not really sure if he’s done that. But, I thought he’d be a great coach for a building team.

Some coaches are for building from bad to good. Others will take a team to the next level=Championship. I don’t think Dan is a Super Bowl head coach. But, I’m hoping he is. We’ll see.

Terrible. They should stick to their guns and be morons even with the benefit of hindsight like me. I like to consider it being genuine.

This isn’t about people changing their minds after a decision has been made. Guys stay quiet. Then later, say “I didn’t want him in the first place”. That’s what a hindsight genius is. And some posters, have to be thought to think logically. That in this sense wasn’t you.

The minute he was fired, my first thoughts were the Giants game just got a lot harder for the Lions.

I know what you’re saying. There was just a thought that flashed through my head where I wished I would use hindsight every now and again to avoid making the same mistakes.

A man that realizes his mistakes is a wise man. For that admission, I give you tons of my respect. At times, I wish the same. A lot of men wouldn’t say that. Let alone, put it in the ether. Respect to you, sir. Salute

I am now hoping someone can start a master list of the open positions and the ones filled…and then how this effects the Lions OC position  :man_dancing:

𝗥𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗦: There are rumblings that GM Joe Schoen’s role in this new dynamic could be one of the factors preventing a deal with John Harbaugh to reach the finish line, per

@PLeonardNYDN

Harbaugh reportedly wanted Joe Schoen to either step down as GM or agree to a role that reduces his power. Most would assume Harbaugh and the Giants had this conversation before he verbally agreed to be their next head coach. “But maybe those proposed changes sounded easier to navigate during lunch and dinner conversations with Chris Mara and Schoen last Sunday and Wednesday than they did on Thursday and Friday when the two parties sat down to put them in writing.”

Oh boy

Does Schoen survive this?

So what. Give it to him. Harbaugh is one of the rare HC’s who should have most of if not full control. Harbaugh knows winning football. They will run the ball a lot, and play good defense. That defense already has all the tools. I wouldn’t doubt it if they make the playoffs next season.
