This is Hock’s perspective of the Lions organization and what its like to play in the NFL:
On the flip side I guess I also have some parting shots. I told my wife last night “hey, do you remember draft night a few years ago I told you there was a specific player I didn’t want the Lions to draft…we did it anyways…and you noticed me drop my head in disappointment at the pick? Well, we traded that guy. How can fans drinking beer know better than guys making millions to know this stuff?”
“If our record was reversed, and it made sense for us, then we would have still done it. It wasn’t anything of that nature.” Brad Holmes - November 2nd.
No way I believe that, he says we were still trading Hock if we were 6-1 and in 1st place. Talk about bullshit!
I doubt he’d be traded for sure, but they might let him walk at the end of the contract. They call that an “own rental” in hockey. The teams that think they can win often do that rather than sell at the TDL for beans.
i listened to it, at least he redeemd himself a little bit by saying Hock’s contract was part of it. But only a little. If we were 6-1, or even 3-4, Brad would not have made that trade.
