Hockenson voted top ten TE

What I find odd is that he was the only Lion voted top ten at his position. I would have figured at least Ragnow would have made the list.

I think he is for sure. He had 61 catches in 12 games last year. That’s 5 grabs a game and has improved in run blocking. He’s got to stay healthy though, that’s the key. If he played a full 17 games last year, he was on pace for 85+ catches and 800 yards and 6-7 TD’s.

Seems like injury prevention and recovery is the theme of our season though…

Swift, Hock, Chark, Ja-Mo, Cephus, Okudah, Romeo, Ragnow, Decker, Jacobs - All missed a lot of time due to injuries last year. Many are coming back from surgery. I’m sure I’m missing a few.

And Ragnow for sure is a top 5 center!

Fox - #1 at his position by a large margin.
Sewell - Soon we well speak of him as the best in the game
Ragnow - already established, but getting snubbed because of injury …no biggie.
Up next → J-WILL!!!

“It’s worth noting that ESPN did not run a survey for the top 10 specialists in the league, so Jack Fox—who is inarguably a top 10 punter in this league—never had a chance to get recognition there”

Fox is so good they didn’t want to embarrass the other punters by ranking him #1, #2 and #3.

I can definitely see that.
Also…it almost feels a bit insulting to refer to him as “a punter.”
Dude can do it all.

Well, if this is the #1 oline in the NFL, they’ll make them eat their words.
If not, like everything else, they will be expected to suck until proven otherwise. Sadly, that is the fact of the situation.
I giggled a little when I heard that the bettor’s are favoring the Lions to win the division, even though, I picked them to go 11-6.

Honestly, Hockenson is the only guy deserving to be on those lists, with Ragnow having a valid argument as well. It was top 10 interior lineman list and with Ragnow missing most of last year its reasonable to leave him off. When healthy he is a top 3 center. Hockenson is a borderline top 5 TE IMO. Kelce, Kittle, Pitts, and Andrews are definitely ahead of Hockenson. He fits in the next cluster with guys like Dallas Goedert.

Decker is a top 10 LT, IMO, but not a top 10 tackle overall. Sewell will be a top 10 tackle in 2022. I will say in 2023, we will have quite a few guys on these top 10 lists.

Hockenson, Ragnow, Swift, Hutchinson, Okudah and Walker may all make a top 10 list in 2023.

Glad I’m not the only one not sleepin’ on this kid. I’m with you in the crazy boat 1811, set sail!

On topic I mostly agree with their list. Ragnow is a no-brainer but a perfectly understandable absentee from the list due to the injury.

Not surprised Hock is considered top 10
Too many here have talked him down in my view
We’re always hardest on our own

I forgot all about the kid we drafted in the 5th round, Mitchell. Before his injury, some mock drafts had him going in the 3rd round.

Edit - Sounds like he should be good to go. Luckily his injury was early in the college season last year, he’s had several more months to recover than Ja-Mo.

I like this dude, and think they will use him in a limited role (until Hoch gets hurt). I think Mitchell is gonna be a good one. He’s nothing like HOch, but effective in other ways.

Looks like a pass catching threat for sure. Big red zone target potentially.
