Are they losing on purpose?

They won last night!

They have about 6 actual MLB players right now

LouBob, Crochet, Cannon are MLB starters anywhere, first two when healthy are all star level guys.

Benintendi is a fringe starter, Vaughn same ( at his peak age 26 season) and Sheets is a bench bat.

The rest are filler, flotsam, failed prospects and flyers. Now, they did just dump Fedde, Eloy and DeJong, so they almost had 10 actual.MLB players…

But yeah, their front office has been terrible for a decade.

Has LouBob ever been healthy?

1 year of 5.

5.1 WAR, 857 OPS, 38 HR 20 SB, very good CF coverage. He is also 26 now. Dude has all the physical talent in the world.

I’m aware of his capabilities. I once had him, and Jimenez as keepers in my fantasy league. I thought both would be fantasy studs. They just can’t stay healthy.

That is insane.

They have only lost 113 games… Still time to turn this around. Since they fired all the coaches they have really improved…

Current situation: 36-117, 9 games left.

If they go 8-1 or better, they avoid any infamy
7-2, they tie the Tigers for worst AL record
6-3, they break the worst AL record, and tie the worst all time record
5-4 or worse, the break the worst all time record.
How low can they go? 125 losses isn’t crazy.

White Sox record vs the AL Central…8-41… No wonder the other 4 teams are all over .500 :joy:

I think they have a winning record against Cleveland?
Aside from that, they put the three other AL central teams in the wild card race.

I thought for sure it would come down to last series vs Tigers to determine if they break the record. But looks like they will break record before that. They have really thrown in the towel on the Southside.

Right, they have tied our AL-worst record for losses already. One more loss and the '03 Tigers no longer live in infamy. Two more losses and they break the Mets record of 120 losses.

Besides the record for losses, they are very close on win percentage. The worst win percentage in the modern era was the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics - 36-117 = .2352. Right now, the White Sox record of 36-119 is .232. If they go 2-5 over their last 7 games, they break that record (38-124 = .2346) as well.

So they will blow past the record before the final 3 in Detroit. Likey. Dont need that Dont Set That Record energy for the Sux as the Tigers clinch a playoff spot potentially

they’ll have the loss record locked up. Let’s hope that they’re not too nerdy, focusing on winning % instead. they won’t have that locked up.
