I guess that subjective… They give teams the option of having their bye week following their international game and obviously the vast majority of them say no

I have no idea what’s the cap for sports interest in this country but it’s already went further than I could imagine

I agree and feel the same. I think with college sports going the way they are it may be a tipping point, along with a potential mlb lockout and the nba being, well, the nba, but then again, maybe they just keep printing money.

.

Draft Kings, FanDuel, and the entire casino industry have helped the NFL boom… even amongst casual fans.

In the end they still have to compete with college ball and spreading that many games across the week means that college could have better matchups AND subscribers could revolt. I don’t think the juice would be worth the squeeze.

Funny story from this past week at work.

I landed on a patient’s chart this week, and said to my co-workers…

“this lady looks like Stiffler’s mom!”

One of the young guys (~25 yo) says…

“who’s Stiffler’s mom?”

:astonished_face::exploding_head::laughing:

WTF???

.

I brought up a picture on google, and he sees that American Pie was released in 1999, and says “that movie came out before I was born”.

I seem to be finding that references to classic movies, shows, or commercials are totally unknown to my younger co-workers, so I keep showing them clips and encouraging them to watch some of these classics.

Oh my goodness.. I hear you loud and clear! It’s very strange - I don’t feel old, in my 40s, but sometimes it’s wild to think this next generation coming up was in diapers when I was in my 20s doing 20 year old stuff.

Just kind of a surreal perspective sometimes, along with my parents and that whole generation becoming elderly. The 40s are an interesting age range…

In the same light, my friends and I can have simpsons jokes and references constantly - only from the first 8-10 seasons though. Kids today have a completely different perspective on that show, if they even watch it

That’s the one that seems so easy to fix. Teams literally have healthy players under contract standing on the sidelines not allowed to play. It’s just stupid.

To expand on this point…

A team with 51 healthy players on the 53-man roster has at least 3 players that can’t play in the game…

but….

that same team can elevate 2 players from the P.S. that can play in the game.

There are guys in street clothes that beat out the P.S. guys… and then have to sit and watch that same player get game snaps!

Exactly. It’s stupid. Take the oline for example most teams have 8 or 9 on their 53 man roster. Most teams dress 7 on game days. Then you get a guy injured in the first quarter and are scrambling to move guys around. Just let them all dress and play. Problem solved. Not even any more expensive for owners. They are under contract. A 10 year old could figure this out. :joy:
