I am convinced that was preplanned… they didn’t block him at all…and Favre takes a dive. Ridiculous and pathetic.
I don’t think this is quite fair. Your elite pass rusher is always going to be lined up against the weak link in the opposition. And there’s not many teams in the NFL with one good offensive tackle - hardly any with two. There’s also plenty of rookies starting at tackle in the NFL. Injuries also happen.
My point is that it’s commonplace rather than exceptional for edge rushers to be lined up against someone who isn’t very good. It happens to Crosby, Garrett, Watt, Parsons etc. far more often than they line up against someone actually decent.
Great point @JessC and the Lions have moved Hutch around a lot. Including rushing inside over guards. He really gives guards problems.
I’m talking about his matchups due to injuries. It is not typical that your best pass rushers goes through five weeks and keeps getting backup (or 3rd string on one occasion) OT after OT.
Hutch is going to come out like a man with his hair on fire. He’s going to get 20 sacks this year to anchor our defense on this SB run.
You mean he wasn’t going to end up with 28 sacks last year?
He was actually going to get 30.
How many weeks until MSU fans start calling him overrated and not worthy of the pick again?
Apparently it’s a controversial take
