When is the last time Sewell got a game ball? There are guys that impact the way a team plays you, they dont always have the best individual game statistical performance but if they arent out there everyone elses job gets more difficult and it is obvious.
Hutchinson, Sewell, and even Jamo to a lesser degree are those guys on this team. The fact you are on some mission to downplay Hutchinsons value to this team is crazy.
In the SGH film review you can see multiple plays where they chip Hutch with the TE AND have the T AND G double him. They consistently shifted their protection to hutchinson.
You tell me, if he isnt impactful why are offenses shifting their protections to him and consistently giving the player lined up across from him help?
I think it may be a thyroid issue. Think it has to do with not eating enough beans and rice and strawberries. I think the elite playmakers have really healthy thyroids……
There is some of that but some of it is also just that Wonnum has an obscene, unsustainable rate of converting pressure to sacks this year. If that was at a normal level he’s probably at a 10 sack pace which is only slightly above a couple of his Minnesota seasons.
I’ve always like him as a player… Sets a good edge with a bit of power to push the pocket… This is definitely the best supporting cast he’s ever played with IMO
If we got the 2021 or 2023 level of pass rushing out of him we were getting a ton of excess value with that contract for all of the reasons that you mentioned. Seems that we are going to come out even further ahead than that. Provided good health. Both he and Scruggs seem incredibly likely to qualify for the Compensatory formula as well.
As good as Wonnum has been this year and how good Hutch has been I wouldnt be opposed to bringing in someone like Mack(on the 0-5 Chargers) via trade just to keep legs fresh for later in the year could have a Hutch/Wonnum/Mack/Moore rotation at DE and could open a fun modified nascar package with Wonnum/Hutch/Alim/Mack rushing the passer in that package
Mack allows us where Hutch can take some reps off on the sideline where Wonnum and Mack could rush the passer a rotation of sorts to keep people fresh 4th quarter and the o line has to deal with a less used Hutch while they are on fumes is a mis match if Moore becomes that 2nd rd good edge rusher you now have fresh legs throughtout the game not just 1st and 2nd and slowly going down 3rd and 4th quarter
