I’m still not liking how they continue to have Gibbs pound up the middle on those 3rd and 2 plays.
especially when Morton ran the show. Hell Dan takes over calling plays one game and the game explodes and player stats do to.

Gibbs isn’t having trouble…and that’s basically the point. Average RBs need good olines to succeed. And all backs run with success behind good Olines…
Gibbs is having success running it outside. That’s not Monty’s game. Gibbs isn’t breaking hardly any long runs between the tackles. Last year, both Monty and Gibbs were have a great success running between the tackles. Jonathan Taylor wouldn’t look good running behind this offensive line.
Just so we are clear, Gibbs is by far the better running back. I agree. But I think Monty can still be successful.

Jonathan Taylor has looked great his entire NFL career and the Colts have definitely had some suspect lines.
You are just making excuses for an average running back. And all average, even below Average backs, have success behind great olines.
I’m not saying Monty isn’t a solid backup…he is. But we don’t need to see more of him to improve this offense. That’s not the solution…
I’m even cool with Monty serving as a lead back in the event Gibbs can’t go for a game or two.
This is the best Taylor has looked by far since 2021. And the colts have had some issues but they typically have some of the better offensive lines in the NFL. Think Taylor was battling injuries and had some contract issues and held out one year. There was speculation the Packers tried to get him a few years ago before they got Jacob’s. Thank god that didn’t happen. He’s the MVP right now to me.

I don’t think anyone said more carries for DMO and less for Gibbs. Was interesting they rotated them in the first series though.
There are DEFINITELY games that we would have lost without Gibby. He’s one baaaadd MF’r. He always contributes heavily, if not straight up takes over games. Looove my guy
