I saw a trade proposed today that I had to bring here

#6 & #18 to the Titans…

for #11 and Jeffrey Simmons.

I think I’d take that in a heartbeat, Simmons might be the best DT in the league.

The guy proposing it phrased it like “I’ve been hearing rumblings of,” so maybe there’s legs to it. I doubt it but I thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion anyway.

Yeah I think I might be ok with that. We get the dominating DT we need and 11 should be just about right for Witherspoon Gonzalez or Branch. What a move that would be by Holmes.

Yeah I think I’m on board with that trade also. Doubt there is validity to it though.

Trade the guy that is recruiting Wagner?

I saw another proposed trade today on the Rams Reddit sub. Ramsey for our 6OA and James Houston

:joy:

No league has more delusional fans than the NFL when it comes to trades.

Truth. I remember last year on the Jags Reddit sub there was a thread of fans excited about trading pick 1OA to us for Amon Ra our 2OA and next years first

I’d do that in a heartbeat but would the Titans do that? That values Simmons pick. In this draft that seems low.

Doubt the Titans could afford Wagner. They’re pretty cash strapped.

Actually they are in good shape for 2024 and could easily rework Simmons contract as well as some others.

They can probably do it actually. A lot of things they can do with Tannehill and his contract. And they don’t have a ton in terms of long term commits.

Okay. Everything I’ve read has suggested the Titans were looking to
shed money rather than add it. Maybe their recent cuts are enough.

Either way I’d be shocked if they are players for Wagner.

My only question at this point is, what does his contract look like?

I agree probably not players for Wagner. Hard to imagine that would be a good landing place to win a ring. The AFC is a gauntlet and the titans have major offensive needs.

Simmons will be needing a new deal if acquired.
He is on the 5-yr option in 2023…
so is he going to want $28 million AAV?

If you look on Titans forums, they’re adamantly against moving on from Simmons but most admit it might be possible given their current situation (cap + timeline + new GM). I don’t think they’ll do it either, but it’s one way to get a lot of ammo in return.

Okay. But he’s 25. He’d still be in his prime for the Titans next window.

I’d like to see Vrabel’s reaction if they trade him… :grimacing:

So would Jon Robinson

Given their situation, why would you trade a proven product for beans? FYI, I never look at any other teams forums.
