I think the players and coaches deserve a ton of praise for coming together the way they have. The roster? It’s fine. Like MLB average give or take but they’re playing as one and in baseball the ineffable stuff matters as much as in any sport. As a Giants fan I saw them carry belief in each other and perhaps the greatest playoff ace of recent MLB history to three championships despite a middle of the pack roster in most of those years.
Magic can absolutely happen here if they can punch their ticket but IMO it will be more so bc of the “foxhole force multiplier” that can happen in special MLB clubhouses as opposed to Avila’s (and the Harris’) personnel choices.

They kinda did until our new front office put more emphasis on developing our talent on every level. Avila should definitely get credit for a lot of the young talent he drafted.
