I'm going to trust Brad

It’s possible, but like this year, nothing good happens when starting a rookie lineman. Frazier would be essentially a rookie. Also, your philosophy would be drafting for NEED as opposed to actual talent. I thought Holmes was against this??
Holmes has had some hits but his misses has cause major problems. It’s shocking because he stated you build from inside out meaning you draft trenches.

We have to lose five games, mathematically speaking for this to happen …. Not counting other teams as they lose as well…

Like this weekend..

  • packers and vikes are more likely to lose
  • Bears are more likely to win

If we win, we are still in the race and closer to a playoff seed…

Or maybe we could be the saints who are officially eliminated this weekend from the first seed if they lose

One game at a time…

No living in the past or future brother - it’s not good!

To me, this has always been an age old argument that’s rooted in how you choose to see it. A team has a QB, a QB is the best player on that board, team passes on the QB. Why? “Well, we had whatever player we selected as the best player left ON OUR BOARD.” The ending is the key.
I don’t think the Lions will go and select a LT just because, or select a C just because. They will look for what players are the best that fit what the team needs.
Let’s say it this way. At this moment in time, I think it’s crazy that the Lions took Isaac TeSlaa with 3 3rd round picks, but can’t even get him involved in the offense. I get that the Lions loved him and believed he was the best player on the board, but since we drafted BPA and he can’t find playing time, you can make the argument we now have a surplus of WR’s, and those picks would’ve been better spent elsewhere.

I think the BPA vs Need argument has been wildly overdone, and is more used to justify why people believe a team should take the guy they like. There are pros and cons to every philosophy, and I think ultimately, it comes down to marrying both concepts. The real question comes down to, what player do we think is the best fit for our specific team?

Bullshit. You just have no patience whatsoever.

Howie Roseman had to get demoted once before he came back and finally reached a Super Bowl (the first time, with many players Kelly drafted). And that didn’t happen until his 6th year in charge. It’s only Brad’s 5th, and Philly wasn’t coming from all-time terrible franchise when he took over. It’s shameful that Howie was treated better by Philly fans at the time than Homes is by many on here.

Would you have been calling for his head? 100% you would have.

Between Gibbs and Monty, they have almost 1000 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns. I think you’re looking at the Vikings game a little too closely and extrapolating that to the rest of the season. It’s just not the case. The Lions had a bad game. It happens.

baaaahhh. was it arrogant and disrespectful to call Michael Jordan the best I the NBA before he won his first title? Some stuff is just easy to see. Brad holmes is the best Gm in the league…AND the most handsome (by a mile)

If you take out that first year (where they had almost none of their own players, were in cap hell, etc), they are the winningest franchise in the NFL.

WTH>???
We are on the verge of winning the division, if you asked me.
For the THIRD year in a row, btw.

From 2013 to now, the Eagles have been to the playoffs 8 times, the Super Bowl 3 times, winning it twice and are 6-2 this year.

Damn fine long game if you ask me.

Love it. Absolutely view them as our main competition.

I view it as “theirs, until proven otherwise,” I just really think we will prove otherwise.

Absolutely no reason we can’t do even better. Patience. I’ve watched this shit for almost 50 years. I’m not going to hold my breath and stomp my feet because Brad didn’t make a deadline trade.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the class of the NFL over the last eight or nine years. They lost against the Buffalo Bills. Did they make any knee-jerk trade deadline deals? I guess their GM sucks too.

We are 1 and 2 in the division, we would need to beat all 3 the next time we meet and hope GB and Minny lose a few. The October thing is a cliche, you loose the division and to many in October it won’t matter how good you play in December.

We are 5-3. We have the same number of wins as everyone else in our division, sans the Vikings. The losses to Green Bay and Minnesota were a little fluky in my opinion. We’ll square up with both of them in the second half of the season. I’m completely confident we win the division.

They’ve won a shitload of big games over the last three years, what are you talking about? They have the best primetime record in the league under this regime.

Yeah they didn’t win THE big game but few do. They were within a whisker of a Superbowl two years ago mainly because Josh Reynolds dropped two key passes and had like 75% of their defense out against Washington in the playoffs. That’s Brad Holmes fault somehow? He’s assembled one of the most talented rosters in the league the last few seasons, he’s done his part for the most part.

“Dream situation" cracked me up too. Yeah Brad did walk into a dream situation, if “dream” is code word for pile of flaming shit.

Well I have a few reasons why I think they won’t be winning, or making, the Super Bowl this year.

I’m not either, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna throw shade at one of the best in the business.

Trading for Slay didn’t seem to ruin the long game.
