Interesting scouting of non power 5 QB prospects

Seems the best according to this guys evaluation is Strong. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him still available with our first in round 3

I heart Carson Strong

One guy I’m sort of rooting for is Bailey Zappe from Western Kentucky. Kid started at Houston Baptist and now plays for Western Kentucky with some eye popping stats this year. He is barely 6 foot though, and in no world a first rounder, but seems like a gamer.

Definitely has the coolest name

I only saw strong against Cal, and I was not impressed.

He had a couple of beasts as WRs that definitely made him look good against a usually strong Cal secondary.

Doesn’t Strong have knee issues which limit his mobility?

Strong was airing it out today

It looks like the article was written in July as a preview to the upcoming season.

Strong arm
Quick release
Great mobility
Toughest competition
36 Games played
57 TD passes
Good leader
Tough/plays through injury
We can have him if we want him this offseason
Lacks prototypical height/weight

Matt Corral

Cal has a Senior QB in Chase Garbers that will likely be a day 3 pick. He is very mediocre, but does bring a nice running element to his game.

I’ll link the scout notes below. My behind the scenes insights are:
Pro: He’s had some poor coaches overall with Musgrave (former fired Denver OC). A good OC may be able to get more out of him.
Con: My contacts on the team say he is not a football junkie. He just seems to show up, compared to Goff who was a first guy in/out sort of player.
