Interviews from today

Campbell doesn’t mention if he called the league office… does make some comments about it being OK to give max effort all the time which is something that may or may not be related to Collins…

As for DeLeone, also good one to watch. They grilled him about Chris Spielman’s involvement which he did a very good job of addressing.

Hope you enjoy and interested to hear if anything stands out to anyone else!

Watched these and also the TE coach and J Okwara’s - several key points to me:

1- Deleone talked a lot about the energy JRM and Barnes brought. You could tell he was excited about that. He praised JRM before Barnes - probably because Barnes is still showing rookie tendencies they need to clean up.

2 - J Okwara was in on 9 rush attempts and hurried the QB on 4 of them. Really nice - all he talked about was how much he missed and could improve. I was really happy with the pressure we put on Jackson last week and both Okwara brothers and Charles Harris were part of it. Good to see energy at the LB and edge positions translating on the field.

3 - Hockenson was a huge part of the running success in second half last week. They need to get more creative to help get him open and they will.

4 - Swift is still being worked in a little slowly due to his injury but he has earned and will continue to get more playing time.

5 - DC has a guy in the booth that writes down every play and decision DC makes during the game concerning punt, go for it, take time out, etc. He goes over them every week to help him improve his own game management. He did not bring this from the saints - it was actually something he picked up from the lions, that was a surprise.

Dan - “the veterans that we brought in believe what we believe. They’ve been a part of winning with other organizations. If stuff pops up in the locker room, they’re gonna pull people to the side and say, “Hey look”… That’s the type of guys we have here”

Very insightful as to what they’re building, how they’re doing it, and what they’re looking for moving forward. Makes so much sene cutting Collins.

Imo this is the most important. Sunday’s game at the end was typical, bad, play not to lose, Lions coaching we’ve seen for years…that we ALL knew was gonna bite em in the ass, starting with turtling the offense in the red zone and playing for a FG…we all knew the hammer was coming. We need a coach that also realizes this…hopefully Dan will eveolve and get better.

Agreed Natty!

Talent is extremely important of course. But, every team in the NFL has talent. The desire to win, effort, hustle and grit are most often determining factors in winning programs vs losing programs. And that’s Coach Campbell’s most important task in year 1, get rid of the mentally weak dudes who give up when the going gets tough.

We might not have won any games yet this year, but I’m proud of what I’ve seen so far, improvement, never quitting and grit are the main reasons.

Looking forward to us beating the Bears on Sunday!

Cool video… and love how the lions media department has been doing what they do.

On that last drive, how Jackson didn’t get an intentional grounding, there’s a false start on #70 guard on ravens… just saying. More than one missed call not to mention the game clock… just sayin…

Coach Jimbo Stoneface’s Sky In The Eye Babysitter has become SOP it seems here

I guess I should have naturally assumed it but as long as I’ve known about the “game situation coach” I’ve never thought about him and the head coach reviewing every single decision together after every game…like players getting graded and having to review their game film.

As I watch the video with coach DeLeone, one word keeps coming to mind…
Caesarean.

I had no idea Kevin James was our LB coach - sweet!
