Is 18 too early for Adetomiwa Adebawore?

I’m convinced Brad will do what’s necessary to get AA. In most mocks I can find, he’s either late first or early second. Would you be OK with spending No. 18 on him?

The more I thought about this, the more I don’t care. If the Lions feel really good about a player like him, and he fills a need on the line (to say nothing of his character and play), then I say pull the trigger.

I would be very happy with AA as the pick at 18. Elite traits, good arm length, good character and room on his frame to grow. His technique is not great so he has a lot of room to grow skill wise as well.

I want two impact players in the first.
I have no problem with (slight) reaches if the player does what we need him to do and has a football attitude.

AA is Def a project more so than other DT’s in the first, but he does have the size and weight to play for sure, and i think hes very scheme flexible

i wouldnt mind him at 18 tbh

I will be surprised if he doesn’t go closer to 18 vs going in the 2nd round

Edit to add: I would venture a confident guess that more NFL teams have him higher on their boards than Klancey

The question I am kicking around is do teams see AA as an edge guy that kicks inside on 3rd down. Aka J Paschal type. Or someone they believe they can convert to DT. I believe his best football will be played at Edge 1st & 2nd down & inside on 3rd down

I don’t think he has the natural bend to make him an elite edge player. I think DT is where you get the most value from him.

I take Bresee over AA at 18.

Yeah, he’s fallen off my radar a bit. I have yet to read of Detroit’s interest in Bresee, but they seem to be smitten with AA.

So, you’re saying they are taking Bresee then, nice!

Bresee :face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting:

He has plenty of natural bend.

Will he be an elite edge player, I don’t know about that. If people are thinking that then he needs to be a top 5 pick. I don’t see anyone mentioning that?

I like AA. He has all the physical traits and athletic testing number bit he plays too slow. He isn’t football fast imo. He’s reaction time isn’t there. I think 18 is too high

18 is fine if they like him. This class is top heavy and after that guys will be ranked all over the place. One team could have him at 12 while another has him at 60. It’s gonna be that kind of draft.

That’s why I’m expecting more trades than normal.

This has me thinking JSN at 6 and AA at 18 might be our picks.

I think we are overlooking our favorite trade partner… you know 'em, you love 'em… The Vikequeens! We get their #23 & #158 for our #48, #55 & #183. That gives us three first rounders, and gives them two second rounders (of which they currently have none).

Lions could end up with some real options: Witherspoon/Bijan/Carter/Gonzo, Kancey/Van Ness/Porter/JSN, AA/Flowers/Kincaid/Simpson.

It looks like that deal matches up teally well on the point chart…
even if the late round picks aren’t included. There would inly be a 10 point difference if Lions got 23 for 48 & 55. :eyes:

For a DT I would take Benton over anyone not named Carter and I think 18 is a little too high but I don’t see him lasting to 48 either.

I am with you. 1. Carter 2. Benton 3. M Smith

AA I believe is better suited as an edge & arguably worthy of 18

Kancey is the toughest eval in this group. He might be more of a 3rd round guy than a 1st. Could easily say Vice versa though

For all we know they could have a top 5 grade on him. I just hope we don’t waste resources trying to trade up to get him.
