That’s what I meant about Darnold not leaving points on the table. There is nothing wrong with kicking field goals, especially early in the game. Kicking a field goal doesn’t mean you lost 4 points. We should know this since Dan going for it on 4th down instead of taking the easy points bit the Lions in the ass too many times last season.
Clearly that was SEA’s plan. Run it, don’t force it, take the points. They knew if they played mistake free they would win.
When the Ravens won the Super Bowl, Flacco played every game like that. It was actually one of the greatest postseason runs for any QB in history. The Ravens defense wasn’t the same as what we were used to. Flacco and the offense had to win some shootouts along the way.
Super Bowl is a Super Bowl and the Jets and Vikings missed the playoffs
just jfl
Got Caldwell a HC gig.
The Panthers had Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold in the building at the same time and still screwed it up.![]()
0 turnovers this postseason. Meanhwhile I watched Josh Allen make the dumbest unforced fumble I’d ever seen a good quarterback make 3 weeks ago.
Josh Allen is probably the most talented qb in the nfl but playing hero ball leads to critical mistakes at times. Knowing when to throw the ball in the turf, out of bounds or sliding often is the smarter play depending on the situation.
It’s tough cause Allen is so fun to watch but there are different ways to skin a cat. And playing complimentary football is vital to winning.
Darnold did exactly what he needed to do based on the strengths of his team. Credit to him.
