Lol dude isn’t that what you just did ? Lol
how so?
Maybe not I’m not as confident as others.
Isn’t Z being on this team a if, as you said.

Maybe Z comes back - maybe not… it don’t matter… Brad/MCDC will figure it out.
Good morning Den, looking forward to a wild day 3 today. In true Holmes fashion he shocked us yesterday. Seeing some good stuff about this electric car guy this morning
Why? We have Josh Paschal & Davenport
And probably Z’darius.
If Davenport can stay healthy and Z comes back, that’ll do for 2025 and we can revisit in 2026.
Still some lottery tickets today…
Just saw what they gave up to get TeSlaa
I’m a Brad Holmes truther but can’t help to be critical here. TeSlaa needs to turn into an every down starter at minimum to justify this trade. It isn’t about equivalent value of a mid 2nd or whatever, it’s that they easily could have replaced whatever they expected to get from TeSlaa for just one of those 3rds. The Lions traded Golden Tate* for a late 3rd (for example).
*yes, I know. Golden Tate rental, etc. The point is that you can get a really productive player for just a single 3rd. You give up three 3rds he’d better be pretty special

And this is why Brad is Brad and some of the posters on here have not a clue.
As Jman has pointed out many times, we didn’t give up the 3rds straight up. We traded them for 6ths.
They will likely be low thirds and high sixes in return. That’s the actual value given up.
I don’t hate the picks, but last season we had a MASH unit of injuries on defense, I get we are “refining” the team, but we needed a pass rusher and other D-lineman at least for emergency-if we get a high number of injuries again. we were pulling our reserves to play , so this draft seems nutty.
I would recommend you watch Brad’s press conference on the Lions website. He does an amazing job explaining everything you brought up and you can see him get a bit direct with a couple of the reporters who kept badgering him about the edge rushers. He quite simply gives a very clear definition of his perspective which we have witnessed first hand the past few years. It’s a different mindset and focus we haven’t witnessed from past leadership which makes it difficult for some of us to embrace.
I believe that’s the plan, 3rd WR.
Again, people need to stop and think for a second, how many day 1 starters can the Lions even put on the field? And if Brad doesn’t see a DE that’s a potential starter someday in that 3rd round but sees a WR that can be a starter, what does it matter what he gives up to get him?
If Teslaa is the next ARSB, would you be whining about this pick right now?

If those injuries like last year happen again… a 3rd round edge aint helping much. Can only roster so many players.
As Jman has pointed out many times, we didn’t give up the 3rds straight up. We traded them for 6ths.
I know what they gave up. 6th round picks are not that valuable. If you are going to insist that all of Brad Holmes’ 6th rounders are going to be Mekhi Wingo, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Christian Mahogany then I will insist that all of his 3rd rounders be Alim McNeil and Kerby Joseph
We just traded Alim McNeil and Kerby Joseph for Malcom Rodriguez, Christian Mahogany and the rights to Isaac TeSlaa. TeSlaa needs to be really special to justify that swap OR we have to be realisitic in what we expect an actual value of a 3rd or 6th rounder is.
A 3rd rounder gets you a quality receiver in a trade. At minimum, TeSlaa needs to be better than “Quality Receiver”.
4 consensus areas of need to be addressed in this draft:
1.) DE - Nothing
2.) DT - Check ![]()
3.) IOL - Check ![]()
4.) WR - Check ![]()
75% of areas of concern have been addressed.
I answered in a poll last year (Before season started) that the Lions couldn’t survive the loss of Hutch. Boy was I wrong…15-2 season. Yes the loss to Washington hurt bad. But I’m not willing to chalk that loss up to not having a DE.
When I keep hearing about “lack of depth” on defense, I scratch my head. 15-2 with all the injuries. Lions don’t DO that without depth.
(Now, if Teslaa turns out to be Circus Kircus 2.0, that’s a horse of a different color…)
Brad believes he is special.
