Isaac Teslaa Player Comps

Both were big slot receivers in college. There’s definitely some crossover in Lance Zierlein’s predraft evaluation of the two. My superpower is squinting:

Jefferson’s summary is “will become good starter” within two years. A massive underestimation of his early career. I think Isaac’s is an underestimation as well, though not on JJ’s level.

I’m definitely excited to see what EV turns out to be. With his speed, athleticism, and good hands, he’s just going to need a ton of reps vs. pro corners to start reaching his potential. I don’t think it will come super quick, but by Thanksgiving we should start to see a star in the making.

Well, he was evaluated and drafted by the same guy that got Amon Ra.

I was unaware that Prince Nuada Silverlance played for the Cowboys.

The difference between the two is separation. TeSlaa struggles to separate on tape - even that Arkansas beat writer mentioned it - whereas Jefferson creates body lengths with the slightest of shimmies. I don’t think it’s route-running either, I just think Jefferson has preternatural twitchiness that most WRs his size just don’t have.

I see a Danny armandola kind of career

@sofatso is right. He’ll be just like Justin Jefferson. Probably a couple future traded 3rd rounders better in fact.

I just want him to be Larry Fitzgerald. Is that asking too much?

If only he and Az Zahir Hakeem could get healthy and stay on the field at the same time, that offense would have been unstoppable!…(ducks and hides behind the coach).

But it has been seen by evaluators far more capable than I am.

Danny Amendola?!

Don Hutson. Before my time but the hands match.

Am I in before the Joseph Fauria comp?

Oh his ceiling’s sky high, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t think it’s Jefferson stylistically. I think that’s mostly coming from “played inside in college but we hope he can play outside in the pros.” Honestly the same is true of AJ Brown (he got a little more outside run once Metcalf got hurt, but was predominantly an inside receiver in college), and I think of that type he would be a closer comp. TeSlaa’s not as strong, and I doubt he tracks the ball over his shoulder quite as well (nobody in the league does), but the way they move is more similar.

Amendola was 5’11, EV is almost 6’4".
