I do believe the NYJ got the better end of the deal. However I think SEA thinks those close to being a Super Bowl contender and need that difference maker to push their defense over the top. If Sea wins a SB then I think it was worth it for them. But … ultimately in the long run I think it sets SEA back.
Question now is will Sea pay him or will he become a distraction in Sea.
I don’t think they gave up they kind of compensation without the intention of extending his contract. And, quite frankly, the Seattle salary cap situation for 2020 and beyond actually looks good.
