Who the eff is bombling Central America? And why is Cuba bombing Mauritania?
I would really like a beautiful robot sex slave.
I would want her to look just like Jmans grandma.
Nobody is exempt
Just older
For same impulsive reason that governs my life, it seemed like a good thing to do at the time…followed in time by oh or uh-oh or ew or that didn’t work out well…
It’s spiritual baby!!
Those Mauritanians got what they had coming.
Cuba knows the richat structure in Mauritania is actually an alien base. They’re trying to get their attention
The Cubans hate Atlantis. It sucks in all their tourism…but they programmed the old one in.
Companies are increasingly using AI to collect data on customer behavior and employee performance. I’m so greatful to be getting close to the end of my working career.
How long before an AI robot calls you into the office for a dressing down? Actually, at that point there won’t be any humans working in the coffee shop. Never mind.
MIT physicists proved Einstein wrong in a famous quantum experiment.
They tested reality—and it blinked.
Einstein famously doubted the completeness of quantum mechanics, referring to its most mysterious aspect as “spooky action at a distance.” But in a modern version of the Bell Test experiment, MIT scientists used cosmic photons to rule out hidden variables—proving that entangled particles truly influence one another instantaneously, across space. Their findings reinforce the idea that the universe behaves in ways classical physics cannot fully explain.
This isn’t just a win for quantum theory—it’s a challenge to how we perceive reality itself. If entangled particles are connected beyond time and space, then separation is an illusion. These discoveries support the spiritual concept of oneness: that all things are interwoven at levels deeper than what our senses reveal. Science and mysticism inch closer with each discovery.
Ancient teachings have long echoed this principle. From the Hermetic maxim “As above, so below,” to Eastern ideas of universal consciousness, the idea that reality is interconnected has existed for millennia. Now, modern physics provides measurable evidence. As the veil lifts, we’re reminded that the boundaries we believe in—between people, atoms, even thoughts—may not be boundaries at all.
Yeah, the singularity is a-coming. What will be the purpose of humanity? Stay tuned.
I’m agnostic about ultimate reality, yet snippets like that, prolonged exposure to this thread, and perhaps an innate desire for balance and wholeness lead me to vote might could on murky matters like this. It feels like progress for this human.
Dune is built on the idea of the ‘Bulterian Jihad’. Humans realized the machines controlled everything and the last free humans lead a revolt against AI.
Then spice helped to expand their consciousness so super intelligent humans could lead society instead of AI.
So the idea that AI is going to cause some issues has been around for a while.
Black Mirror is way more likely than Star Trek. People are too greedy. Just like communism or the late stage capitalism the USA is enjoying, the worst people kill their way to control and then it all goes to shit. Now add super intelligent androids and kill robots.
yep. star trek is my pie in the sky ideal, but it requires the invention of a replicator because humans are greedy and love hoarding stuff. And it’s a bit insane how things crash and rebuild and it just keeps friggin happening over and over.
“Life as we know it…”, is exactly that when considering what may be out there. The fact is that life as we don’t know it is the likely scenario. So when we scan the universe looking for planets like ours the fact is that we may be totally wrong in our search because billions of years ago everything we see is different today than it was in the past. Anyway. something new from Webb…
The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has ruled out an Earth-like atmosphere
on exoplanet TRAPPIST-1 d.
TRAPPIST-1 d is located in the TRAPPIST-1 system 40 light-years away. It intrigues astronomers looking for potentially habitable worlds – it’s a similar size to Earth, rocky, and liquid water could theoretically exist on its surface ![]()
But the similarities seem to end there. Observations of the exoplanet with the #NIRSpec on Webb found no sign of molecules common in Earth’s atmosphere like water, methane, or carbon dioxide.
For now, TRAPPIST-1 d can be ruled out from a list of potential Earth twins or cousins. However, Webb observations of other planets in the system are ongoing. Perhaps one of those will have an Earth-like atmosphere?
The Voyagers are flying beyond the solar system – using 1970s tech.
Launched in 1977, the twin Voyager spacecraft were built to explore the outer planets – but they’ve gone far beyond their original mission. Today, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are the most distant human-made objects in space, traveling through interstellar space more than 15 billion miles (24 billion kilometers) from Earth.
Their “brains” are tiny by modern standards – a combined 69 kilobytes of memory across multiple computers. That’s less than the size of a single image on your phone. Data is stored on a Digital Tape Recorder, which works on the same principle as an old 8-track audio tape, recording information in loops.
Most of the spacecraft’s software is written in FORTRAN, a programming language developed in the 1950s and widely used in the ’70s for scientific work. When something breaks or needs updating, NASA engineers often consult the original 1970s paper blueprints and handwritten notes, because the parts and systems aren’t made anymore.
Yet somehow, with outdated hardware, decades-old code, and the help of engineers who weren’t even born when the Voyagers launched, these spacecraft keep sending back data from the edge of the solar system.
Proof that great engineering – and a little ingenuity – can stand the test of time.
And for some reason Microsoft is trying to really really convince me that I need to upgrade my laptop to Windows 11.
I feel your pain. I have a 10-year-old computer and iMicrosoft says, “We can’t help you.”
