*The Lions conducted a walkthrough on Wednesday. Practice participation designations for that day are based on estimations.
Makes sense. Trade him to NE, Mia, or whoever else runs the Patriots defense. Get anything you can. Time for some #Barnestorming

Or any other lber on any other team. Except for Tavai……
could be veteran “rest day”… which would be incredibily ironic…
considering that his effort has been questioned publicly.

Or maybe Campbell told him to take today off and think about if he wants to be there or not. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Collins took offense and just didn’t show up.

Was thinking the exact same thing…

It was a walk through though. Does anyone rest on those days? I honestly don’t know.

Pride of Detroit just tweeted that the Lions are already game-planning for Barnes, and that his PT will come at the expense of Collins.

We are looking at a 5th that can be bought up to a 4th with snap/play%…really at best. He has looked like crap, selling low.

Trade this week saves us $3.378M and $7M next year.
If he plays with Detroit this year and cut after the season, we save just $7M next year.

Teams know this guy is disgruntled now. I bet they end up having to cut him.
If other teams know the marriage isn’t going to work, why trade assets when you can sign him after he’s cut?

That works only if there is only one team interested.

I won’t say I “called” this trade talk… but I did bring up the fact that his restructure earlier in the offseason made him more valuable in a trade because they lowered his base salary for 2021. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if this was part of the plan for Holmes all along.

I am sure everyone knows I am not a fan of restructuring a bunch of deals with the goal of spending a bunch of money in free agency this year to hope tis team can go 6-10.
With that said… I will say this could be interesting to watch play out!
#1 – The KEY to this restructure is the Lions did NOT add a dime in guaranteed money to the deal.
#2 – they didn’t even bother to add any additional years of non-guaranteed salary.
He is still due a $9.8mill sal…

Nice, I’m glad we are trying to move him. Looking forward to seeing Barnes.
