Jamo trade rumor

Yes peak smoke and mirrors season but.

Just hypothetically.

Trade Jamo this year with LAC for
Pick 55 and 158

Trade him in 2026 for pick ~85

Or let him walk for a comp ~103

Or don’t trade him at all.

Why? I keep getting told on here the cap isn’t real and that we can afford all these edge rushers we trade for. Personally I would have extended Jamo the moment we could.

I keep him at least this season, he’s cheap and he brings things to the offense no one else does.
Willing blocker downfield and has improved route running and catching.
Makes little sense to trade him at this point, down the road sure but not yet imo.

Cant imagine making a SB run and trading one of the most explosive players in the league…makes no sense. Zero. Now if some team offers the moon then sure, but that aint happening.

The main issue is people believe anything they hear without an ounce of speculation or independent thought. Sheeple… Bad information goes away when it’s met with good info, ppl are just incapable of deciphering the BS

DK Metcalf just netted the Seahawks the #52 pick in 2025.
He had 1 year remaining on his deal.
He got $60 million guaranteed over next 2 years,
and then cost $30 million AAV to keep for the final 3 years.

Why would the Lions trade him now… with 2 years of team control at modest cost… for the same return as Seahawks received?

I DEFINITELY wouldn’t trade Jamo next offseason for a 3rd round pick. I’ll take the 1 season of him playing for his big contract and bet on him to be motivated.

And then… if he doesn’t get a long-term here in Detroit…
there is nothing wrong with tagging him and immediately letting him know he can find a trade partner like the Chiefs did with Snead last offseason.

True but these social media sites are designed to create division and conflict. It works very well for clicks and engagement. Being accurate, factual or truthful is basically irrelevant.

That makes no sense for a win now team to trade their homerun threat signed for dirt cheap this year for a pick one round higher than they could project to get if they trade him a year from now.

If they don’t plan on extending him the smart move would be to play it out this year, franchise him next year to get the most out of him for these 2 years then let him walk and if he’s so good that they can’t afford him, they’d get a 3rd round comp pick. Kind of like what the Bengals did with Tee Higgins but without the extension. Trading him for a modest return now makes no sense IMO.

If he picks up where he left off and takes the next step, he’s starts gettting in the conversation of guys who can be #1 receivers for teams.

The Lions have him for around $9m per for the next two seasons.

To trade that I’d expect a top 15 pick. Otherwise, naw.

WE ARE NOT TRADING JAMESON WILLIAMS.

@Thats2 said it best, its engagement farming started by Mike Payton and people are bored 3 days before the draft and none of us want to click on another mock draft.

He might be worth a late first or a 2nd rounder. He’s still cheap. Trading player for player is a good option. Its no secret I’m not a Jamo fan until he matures up, keeps improving, and especially with Goff.

Aiden’s new contract is coming soon. Kerby might get one. Brad has packed this team with great players so it’s possible Jamo doesn’t make the cut because he’ll be expensive.

In saying all of this, clearly to me this is all garbage click-bait BS. He’s not getting traded.

Oh absolutely… I’ve just programmed my brain to understand their entire purpose is to get me to engage, either positively or negatively… I take every bit of it with skepticism unless it has direct evidence, quotes, multiple sources, etc. The people in the talking box are LYING to me, I know this lol

If we didn’t have so many mouths to feed I think Jamo would have been a #1 wr last year.

I know he’s immature off the field but his route running and such took big strides forward.

I will trade him TO THE Giants for #3 and Hyatt  but only if Carter is there or get Mason Graham

I personally wouldn’t do it. But i wouldn’t be surprised.

I personally would trade him NEXT off season.

But no they can’t extend him.

Simply not enough money.
Goff 16.8% of the cap.
Hutch ~10.5%
St Brown 9.3%
Sewell 8.2%
McNeil 7.7%

Thats 52.% of the cap.
Say Jamo is 25aav for 4 years. (Low ball) thats 6.8% so

Basically 60% of the cap with those 6 players.
Almost $200m!!! In 2027 with an expected cap of $326m
That’s BEFORE we talk about
Kerby, Branch, Laporta, Gibbs and Campbell due up in the next 2 years.

Cap is also going up like 30 mill a year

we can afford him, but of course, were gonna have to add alot of dead years and all that jazz

Modern NFL cap issues in a nutshell, piper will be paied, but you can delay it a bit.

I wouldn’t trade him. The guy’s pure talent.
HOWEVER:
If the team believes that one more minor infraction means a suspension, and he’s now not on the field… I mean, I get it.

Oh my god!! The Lions interviewed Golden. That must mean they’re gonna trade Williams. I heard they talked with Shemar Stewart. Hutchinson must be on his way out.
