I dont think he ever gets the props he deserves on a national level. When we win x super bowls they will say “well look at those teams, that coaching staff, THOSE HALL OF FAMERS”

YEAH I WENT THERE.

It’s just how the universe wants to address him. Hell he didn’t even get a game ball for a perfect game where he threw and caught TDs, and posted the highest Lions QBR since ESPN started using that stat

But good. Keeps the chip on his shoulder

Lol, looks like everything I said make your $20 wager a smart move with this type of season for QBs. Lots of young ones out there with far less around them.

One of the greatest comebacks in sports history. If he wins the MVP and the Super Bowl, it would be official, we won the Stafford trade. Even now I would call it a coin flip despite the Rams already winning the Super Bowl. Knowing what I know now, I would make that trade 1000 times out of 1000, and I was a huge Stafford slappy. I am officially in the DanBrad cult.

Sorry, Lamar is the MVP if he stays healthy

The discrepancy in their yards/TDs cant be ignored by the voters- and shouldn’t.

JG is a bad dude but Lamar is in God mode right now.

Lamar is amazing when he’s on. Almost unbeatable. But wins also mean something and the Ravens did lose to one of the worst teams in the league and very likely could’ve lost their last game against the Bengals if the refs weren’t playing with each other’s buttholes and called either of the blatant penalties on the 2 point try. There also is his poor playoff record to contend with and if the Ravens get bounced in the 1st round (the Lions too), it will to count against him. Goff is doing some things that no other QB has EVER done. And he’s still in the midst of doing them. He shouldn’t be penalized for playing within the confines of an offense that is regularly kicking the ass of its opponents.

That would be cool for Goff, but as a fan I don’t really care much. It’s like Hutch with DPOY. He was probably going to get it this year but it’s not a big deal that he won’t. In fact, I would much rather see him break the all time single season sack record. There is a DPOY every season but there is only 1 guy with the all-time sack record at any moment in time. But no individual award is bigger than MVP, so good luck Jared.

First, let me say that if the season ended now Lamar would win the MVP and I wouldn’t find fault with that. His passing numbers are ridiculous, he’s on pace for almost 1,000 yds rushing, and his team is winning enough not to be an obstacle to his MVP campaign. The MVP is for the regular season only, so playoff performance, past or present, doesn’t matter - and the voters certainly won’t be thinking about how the Ravens might have lost a game in early November if the refs hadn’t robbed their opponents.

That said, every time I hear a version of the bolded part… grrrr. Look at the best offenses in NFL history - the 2013 Broncos (P Manning), 1999 Rams (Warner), 2018 Chiefs (Mahomes), etc. - and, no surprise, they’re STACKED at the skill positions. That didn’t prevent those QBs from wining MVP. The Greatest Show on Turf Rams had Holt, Bruce, Az-Zahir Hakim, and Marshal Faulk. Mike Martz was the Ben Johnson of this time. But no one said, hey, ANY decent QB would thrive in this offense so we’re gonna ding Warner for MVP.

The double standard some apply to Goff is beyond tiresome.

Another way some pundits and fans ding Goff is by pointing to the high quality of his OL. “The Lions have the best OL in the league.” Truth is that our OL is much better at run blocking than pass blocking. The Lions’ OL ranks 17th of 32 in pressure allowed. Good news: Jared has a top-5 passer rating under pressure. Would “any decent QB” do so well?

MVP current odds

Josh Allen the big favorite currently and rightfully so

Barkley +350 (odds to win OPOY -500)

Lamar +800

Goff +850

Mahomes +2500, Hurts +6000

It’s a 4man race

Goff being a legit MVP candidate is enough for me. Though I admit that I’m rooting hard for him to win it because one of my favorite posters has some good money on the line.

If you told me this would happen when we made ‘the trade’, I would have said you were nuts.

The issue for Goff, is his low attempts.

I didnt include it in my chart but i will for an update.
Goff only 30 plays per game (pass attempts and rush attempts per game)

Allen and Hurts 35.

Burrow, Mahomes, Jackson 40

So that brings down goffs total.
And with his 7? Ints and Low TD% it really makes those metrics even worse.

In my Opinion Burrow is far and away the MVP. The Bengals defense just SUUUUCKS.

But yea the fact that Goff is even in the conversation is amazing.
And im sorry no RB SHOULD win the MVP unless the break records. And NO not season records because they get an extra game. But on a per game basis

Hes playing the best ball of his life and that’s aying a lot for a dude that won a Natty and wen to the Superbowl

But you gotta win games to be the MVP

Looking at just your stats above, it looks like Lamar Jackson should win to me. Best TD/INT ratio by far, best combined yardage per game…

Yea if not Burrow. Because yes losing record.

Then its Jackson.

But Allen should not win. Over rated as hell.

Cool he runs. Other than that he sucks

Allen is typically a turnover machine that’s not turning the ball over this year. I do tend to believe he is overrated, but I think he would be deserving of the MVP this year. I’m not sure he would get my vote looking at your stats, but it’s within reason. Lamar has already won before, so they might prefer voting for someone else just to make it more interesting.

But a below average comp% of 64.6%!
Under 50% success rate
A VERY high 16.6% bad throw%
His INT% is right in the mix with every one else aside from Mahomes and Goff because they are above their usual average

Based on his stats, hes gotten VERY lucky to have low turn overs.

Heres what Allen does.
Short dump offs. For 3 yards.
Runs for 5 yards.
Then 3 plays a game throws a bomb.

Thats not MVP worthy.
