man I pay 0 attention to Mahomes -he doesn’t walk on water, my attention is on The Lions 100% of the time when it comes to NFL ball. Goff is my favorite QB-as Stafford once was.
All I can say in response to this is it is probably the reason you thought Goff won a Super Bowl in LA… ![]()
But he wasn’t exactly a QB guru. Steve McNair was basically a game manager. Nick Foles took a huge step back when he was with the Rams.

Well neither was Belichick. John Harbaugh is not a QB guru. Dan Campbell is not a QB guru either. But what those coaches are is culture builders and Jeff Fisher, was indeed, a culture builder. That’s why he was in the Titans organization for 15 years. I mean Nick Foles had a rare statiscal year in 2013 with the 27 TDs against 2 INTs, but him taking a step back didn’t start with Fisher.
In 16 full seasons he had 5 losing seasons, 5 8-8 seasons. In St Louis/LA he had a losing record all 5 years. So 6 winning seasons in 21 years as a head coach. If he hadn’t gotten fired with 3 games left he would have the NFL record for most losses by a head coach.

There are many coaches you can break down that way. Now you have to know that the Rams were a bad or poorly run organization. Now Fisher did come in with Les Snead, who is still there are responsible for the Rams becoming a relevant organization now. Sometimes coaches just burn themselves out. I mean Belichick, again, wasn’t the GOAT everyone thinks he is in Cleveland and his wheels came off before he left the Patriots. George Seifert could not duplicate what he did in SF when he took over Carolina. Denny Green couldn’t get it going in Arizona. I give Fisher mad credit for what he did in Tennessee. I won’t impugn his work because it didn’t work out with the Rams
I don’t know a ton about Jeff Fisher, but my impression is that he didn’t sufficiently adjust to how the way the game was being played had changed. He was a good coach but his lack of adaptability did him in.

I have no doubt that your observation is true. But I do know he got A LOT out of a franchise that was considered irrelevant and, not only the league, but the networks wanted winning! ![]()
I think we’re on the same page. He clearly knows ball and how to lead men. I also like that he was part of the greatest college football secondary in history IMO.
I was a Browns fan before they got rid of Watson. I was one of the few who liked him in Cleveland. He got a bad rap and his last year was one in by the move. Even in Tennessee Fisher was at or below .500 in 10 out of his 16 years. Also he was a defensive coach so developing QBs was never a thing for him.
Some coaches are good at that others aren’t like look at how well Baker Mayfield did once he had his 5 week internship with Sean McVey and he was able to build off that. Same with just about everyone who plays for Kyle Shanahan or anyone under from that tree.
Even Goff’s passer rating went up 40 points from year one to year two when McVey got there.
I had a brain tumor at age 13 that I wasn’t supposed to live through, and I had Dr’s cutting and scraping on my brain to remove half of the tumor. I’m 52 now and lucky if I know what day it is, what my banking information is, who people are, what my p.i.n. number is on my debt card, or what I’m supposed to remember my damn DR appointments-in short I’ve had Cancer, a heart attack, and an auto accident that totaled my truck with me inside, so you’ll have to forgive me IF I can’t remember what Goff did or didn’t do years ago.
