He also has some of the worst footwork that I’ve ever seen from a first round OT. Once he gets his hands on you it’s over…if he can get his hands on you. The problem is he can’t keep up with anyone with juice who can keep him from engaging with his hands. That problem is going to get worse moving forward.
He also doesn’t get consistent leverage. Being tall prevents him from always being the “low man” to win reps.
I do find it astonishing that working NFL evaluators and OL coaches wouldn’t come to the same conclusion and are willing to stake their reputations on him.
Different teams/coaches have different risk tolerances, and different things they value: different things they think they can coach up.
I also think Proctor was a terrible scheme fit for us. He might be decent in a run game that uses more zone than we do. For example, if he went to Philadelphia, I could’ve seen him being decent there.
Him trying to pull and/or being put on an island in our traditional system gave me night terrors.
