Jman Mock 1.0 For Old Time's Sake

First off, thank you all for the love in my first thread back. Wowwww.
I am going to get my responses going in that thread… But figured it would be fitting to get that 1.0 boy out because it’s been so long.

Mock 1.0 Shout out to Humberto and QBHater

The Rams pick. We can go 1 of 3 ways here.
Trade up w/Chicago who needs an OT. Like we did Minny last year and go get Jailin Carter or Will Anderson. Stand pat and draft best player available. Or Trading down and getting some more ammo (doesn’t seem to be what the front office wants to do early in the draft). So let’s stand pat and take BPA.

1A) Tyree Wilson or Myles Murphy DE Can we strike gold again? We have an identity now. And it’s a dominant DL. Okwara(s) time will probably be up in the D. We go elite with HUTCH and 1A HERE. HOUSTON elite pass rush specialist. Pascal & Cominsky big DE moving inside and rushing from the DT spots on 3rd down. Whoa
Tyree Wilson is still developing, NFL teams love his 7’0 wingspan as an edge setter
Myles Murphy could pull a Travon Walker and shoot up the draft boards at the combine

1B our pick This is prime spot to move down. Grab an extra 3 for a team wanting to come up for a WR?
1B) Trade down + late 3 Draft Best CB Available. Find our Darius Slay again.
Forbes Miss St (same school as Slay makes big plays often)
Witherspoon Illinois (Kerby’s teammate)
Both '0 180 have elite PFF scores on the season like #2 and # 5 I believe in the country.

2A- Jordan Battle SS Bama Elliott will likely walk and get paid in FA. T.Walker coming off injury 2 years left on deal. This guy looks like a leader in the secondary to me. We have Kerby at FS along with Iffy& W.Harris as NB/FS types. Gonna need a SS, stud for Saban back there.

2B from Hock- 6’0 280 explosive DT from Pitt Unanimous All America. Sound Familiar? Calijah KANCEY. He’s more Geno Atkins or Andrew Billings than Aaron Donald, but the similarities are there. Right now they say round 2-3 for this cat.

3) LB Sewell for obvious reasons or Jack Campbell from Iowa we need our stud MLB to go with Rodrigo at WLB. Anzalone is a good #3/4 guy, special teams, passing down LB.

3) WR Tillman Big Body super productive in 2021, a little dinged up this year but 6’3 215 fits good w/ Saint Breezy and Jamo.* replaces Chark who should walk and get paid in Free Agency

1A) Myles Murphy Clemson or Tyree Wilson Texas Tech DE
1B) Witherspoon Illinois or Forbes Miss St CB +3rd

**2A) Battle SS Bama **
2B) Kancey DT Pitt
3) Noah Sewell LB Oregon or Jack Campbell LB Iowa
*3) Tillman WR Tennessee **

5) between tackles RB M.Williams Ohio St, Gray Oklahoma, Milton Georgia, Rodriguez Kentucky
*6a) RG Jaxoson Kirkland or Strange, Spann- Ford, or Schoonmaker TE **
6b) Jonah Tavai DT or Ivan Pace LB or Deuce Vaughn KR/RB
7) DB Rush or Merriweather

Honorable Mention-
ROUND 1 OCyrus Torrance- #1 rated OL in the country. 6’5 350 RG that dominates the run game. Next to Sewell and Ragnow. EPIC. Depends on Big V what happens? And they liked Tommy Kraemer before his injury as well. Evan Brown, does he return?

ROUND 2 Darnell Washington TE 6’7 270 runs a 4.5 unicorn or RB Blake Corum (Ray Rice 2.0). We love that 6th OL and running the ball. Won’t need a 6th OL with this guy Washington They say round 2 for him and Corum. Corum sweeet but I want Tony Pollard in Free Agency.

ROUND 3 QB Hendon Hooker Tenn TE Laporta Iowa & Kroft SDSU.

You think Sewell will be there in the 3rd?

I don’t.

Also I don’t see the value in taking the 7th ranked CB at 1B

Draft looked good until I saw the name Tavai, lol. This is too traumatic and should be immediately revised :grinning:

Will do broski thanks!

I never would guessed Nakobe Dean mid 3rd last year soooo? I see Sewell anywhere from round 2 to round 3 right now.

I could’ve put him at 2B from HOCK and put Kancey DT in round 3.
Swap them, now what do you think?

Also…What’s the difference between the Top CB and the guys I mentioned? DJ Hayden & Dee Millner were drafted top 10 , Slay was round 2. St Brown was the 12th best WR ranked.

haha Tavai in the 6th would’ve been a good pick though! Problem is Quin got okie doked by Belicheck and took him round 2 damnnnn

I’m with you on Noah Sewell. I feel like he would be a biggg get for this defense. He didn’t look as good this year, sort of wondering if he put too much weight on or something. He was fantastic in 21. I would love true instinctive 250 lb flying around next to Rodrigo. They say that Holmes doesn’t like taking LBs high (my guess is early second for him) but he’d be an impact player.

Also with you on Torrence. OL is such a big part of our identity I think it makes sense to get a guy like this to complete the line. Evan Brown is a solid backup, but how much better would we be running if we didn’t have a hole at RG? We can’t count on Vatai again can we?

Sewell was being knocked for being too aggressive last year and over running plays. I think the dialed down, thinking version of him was the result. He’s not the processor that Rodrigo is. I’ve seen Sewell going from top 10 to the 2nd round. He’s a top 3 linebacker and the only one in the top 3 who’s tossing around 300 LB linemen like ragdolls.

I’d like to see Noah Sewell, and Joey Porter Jr. along with FA Daron Payne next year. I don’t think that happens without a trade back from the Ram’s pick. We need these top 4 QB’s to show out on pro days so teams will come up and get them.

I would love this pick, especially on day 3, but I have to wonder if he declares. I’m not sure he can really improve his stock anymore by coming back next year so he might declare, but I personally thought he was a round 3 type guy before his injury so maybe he comes back to prove that again.

Myles Murphy is probably my worst-case scenario outside of a QB who is not Bryce Young. An underperforming player, with character and effort question marks, at a position we don’t need. Yeah, I would be livid with that.

Oh, and welcome back.

Here is mine.

I don’t like where we will likely sit in the 1st round with the Rams pick. I am not sold on Breese, Murphy, or Wilson at this point and I’m not sure if there will be a CB who separates themselves as a top 10 pick. For a team looking for a WR, top OLineman, or QB, it could be a valuable pick. So in my scenario we drop 6-8 spots and pick up pick to pick 12 with the Texans and get pick #64 and and #132. Texans need a true #1 to go with the QB they take at #1, and Quentin Johnston won’t make it out of the top 10 after he tests. With an extra 1st, an extra 3rd, and 3 extra 6ths they have the capital to make a small move to secure an elite weapon.

Pick #12 - Christian Gonzalez, CB
Pick #18 - Bijan Robinson, RB
Pick #47 - Siaka Ika - NT
Pick #59 - Jack Campbell, MLB
Pick #64 - Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, NB
Pick #78 - Andrew Vorhees, OG
Pick #132 - Tanner Mckee, QB

Re-sign

Jamaal Williams
DeShon Elliot
Isaiah Buggs
John Cominsky
DJ Chark
Alex Anzalone

Restructure Vatai (slash half his base salary)

Sign in FA

Javon Hargrave, DT, 3 years, 42mil
Rashad Fenton, CB, 1 years, 5mil

Below is a blurb from PFF in the off-season on Fenton. Not sure why the Chiefs traded him for peanuts, but he was a consistent cover man for most of his career and would offer valuable insurance to bring along a rookie slowly.

31. RASHAD FENTON, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Fenton has quietly been highly reliable over his three-year NFL career. Despite being a sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the former South Carolina Gamecock owns the second-highest career coverage grade among cornerbacks in that class (83.0). He fell in the draft partly because of subpar physical traits for NFL standards, but that hasn’t been an issue. His tackling stands out more than any other part of his game, as he has missed just twice on 103 attempts since 2019.

Gonna have to start calling him Ryzen now…

Bijan looks like a star for sure.

My thing tho, I want Tony Pollard in free agency. I think he can put up Ekler #s here.

Swift another year on the cheap.

Jamaal probably stays for a team friendly deal 1-2 years max.

I like Pollard a lot as well, but I think we may be a little expensive. He has been the better RB over Elliot for at least a couple years now. He got a little more opportunity this year and really blew up with a multi faceted skillset. He also doesn’t have a lot of tread on his tires which may make him a little more appealing than most. I consider James Connor and Leonard Fournette to be pretty mediocre RB’s. I would say a class above Jamaal Williams. Both those guys got 7mil AAV. I think Pollard gets 10-12mil AAV. I’d venture a guess of something along the lines of 4 years, 44mil.

I do not trust giving big money to RB’s on 2nd contracts as it rarely has a good outcome for the team.

Now if your telling me we could get Pollard at 3 years, 18mil then thats a whole different argument.

You said it yourself, Pollard not a lot of tread on the tires. Not your typical FA signing there. Like Jacobs from Oakland, I’d stay clear from. Lot of tread.

Pollard is a sure thing , we know what he is. And he’s awesome.

Chark 10 mil
Romeo 15 mil
Big V 12 mil
Brockers 14 mil
Harris 8 mil

Catch my drift…I have no problem paying Pollard. Even if it is 4 years 35 mil

Jigga,
