Chargers and WR Mike Williams reached agreement on a three-year, $60 million deal that includes $40 million guaranteed and $28 million in year one, source tells ESPN.
He is good but IMO this is over pay his last 3 years 16 TDs average 5.3 per year he never over the 3 years averaged over 1000 yards he only missed 2 game one from injury other just says sickness That is really good.
I had poster say Reynolds was to much at most het gets 6 mil for two year likely not that much.
This deal has 40 mil guaranteed an likely close to at least 50 million before they move on if doesn’t work out. I will take the Reynolds deal
First I didn’t say it was bad I said it’s a little pricey. You wanna pay a guy 6 million a year for a #4 or 5 WR. But your totally against signing a true # 1 for 15 to 17 a year. Because you like him. your also ok with signing a safety for that much. The difference is the Lions have been talking about signing a top WR but they have not mentioned signing a high priced safety. I wanna see Goff and this team have a chance to improve. We lack a true #1 and I hope we spend some getting one.
Wait that’s you putting numbers on players . Did I miss a announcement how they classify the WR?
Your so called #1 can fail an your out a hell of a lot of Cap if they do.
The quality WR that pull down big money normally never leave a team unless they got into a cap bind. Like cowboys may have to let one go mainly because they gambled on the RB with his contract an it didn’t work out.
I don’t put #'s on them You can I don’t play an produce is what i want. He produced well last year he gets paid. You an others want to hand out huge contracts for a I HOPE …I will take 6 Reynolds right now an 3 would out perform your 16 to 18 million diva.
We can disagree an you have not named anyone you want an at what cost?
Me I hoping for Cooper. I think he is exactly what we lack and a great complement to ST Brown. And hoping we can sign him for 13 -15 I’m probably low. We got St Brown and Cephus on there rookie deals now the only guy were paying much too is Reynolds. We don’t have alot tied up in the WR position so we can afford one decent one.
You could almost say the same thing about Kyle Van Noy. Sure we ended up trading him for a very late round draft pick but had New England not stepped up we would have cut him most likely. He turned out to be a pretty good player in the end. Sometimes it matters the situation and scheme for a particular skill set. I would not read too much into him being cut as a reason not to re-sign him.
I was ok with signing him he’s a good fit here with Goff just said 12 million was a little pricey, but like some pointed out it’s with incentives will see what the # are. But Signing Reynolds doesn’t stop you from trying to sign a true #1.
I think they take a look at the overall FA available and see how that meshes with the draft depth. I think they may spend elsewhere in free agency and then use the draft for WR. Seems to be a very deep draft at WR.
Going to come down to who’s actually available as a FA.
You trade for Amari you take on his contract. Bail out Jones I don’t think this management does things like that.
Robinson is not the same guy look at his numbers an if he is many here dislike Goff so you think he will do better than he did with Bears an there QB merry go round?
i like Kirk but after Williams reup deal he might be to costly.
Lets say what we have now an add couple draft picks . There will also be some WR cut that can be claimed an who will play on show me deals also.
I like Kirk for right price. But he is only one left i really have interest in now team may like others.
I was not advocating any of these moves. The question was who was still left and available for us to be major players in the WR market.
Kirk is a decent player but he got extensive playing time due to Hopkins being injured…and when Hopkins went down, the Cards went downhill as well. Kirk seems like the kind of player that a team will overpay for and he’ll never live up to the signing.
I can’t believe we are having this conversation after spending so much time bitching about last years lack of action at WR. Even some of the guys who criticize Holmes for not signing Reynolds instead of Williams/Perriman are now criticizing him for signing Reynolds instead of Williams/Perriman.
He came here not knowing the system but knowing Goff and he produced the same as last year and if you extended this seven game out to 16 he was in pace to match 2019!
This is a great signing imho!!
It’s about more than his individual stats; it’s about the team, his leadership and synergy with Goff…
