Let the crying begin

it’s so upsetting about all the crap they pulled because THEY DIDN’T NEED IT. they were a ridiculously talented team.

Some of my Michigan buddies who have been following this say that Michigan will get hit with a 14 million dollar fine and Moore might get two more games in addition to the two he has for suspension. There will be no vacated wins and the Natty is legit!

This is hilarious to me. With the current landscape of NIL deals. Does the scholarship limits even really mean anything? Not to mention no one gets to really stack talent. If a kid is talented he expects to play and if he does not he just jumps. A program like UM could run on 75 Schollys and have zero issues.

The NCAA has lost complete control if it even really had any. I am not mad about it. I have never thought this “scandal” at UM was a big deal. My only enjoyment, as stated many times, is that now it has officially disallowed UM fans from acting like they have some moral high ground when it comes to football and how they run their program. Which has long been my biggest annoyance.

Can this please be done so we can talk about something more interesting.

While I detest the UM football program I am pretty impressed how well they have recruited this past cycle. I expected to see a severe fall off from Hairball but it appears they are picking up steam.

I am glad at least one team in the state recruits for football and performs.

As for the penalties I don’t think there is a chance in hell they vacate. Probably some money (which they clearly have in spades) and suspension from meaningless games. UMich is playing the NIL game brilliantly. They won’t want to stifle that momentum. And probably they don’t even have the power to really punish the cheating.

Did it matter when Harbaugh wasn’t coaching games?
Even our assistant coaches still beat Day.

Per pete thamel it is sounding like big monetary fine, 20+million, and 1 more game for Moore which would occur in 2026… and everyone moves on with their lives.

A lot of People wont be happy if so

Agreed, trash if Moore is facing any suspension. One game is too much. Also if Harbaugh gets a show clause that’s beyond laughable

I’m not going to act like Jim Harbaugh essentially never coming back (because of his show cause) to the NCAA had nothing to do with their decision, but this is disappointing.

I guess as long as you have the spare change lying around to pay the fine, you can cheat however you need to to win a national championship. That’s the precedent this sets.

Wouldn’t shock me if Oregon is taking notes. They have deep pockets, and Phil Knight wants a natty very very bad.

I think it was the fact that they had NFL guys across the board, that’s why they won a Natty

NFL guys across the board does not guarantee a national championship.

What kills me is that you guys can watch this:

And still argue that absolutely nothing went on whatsoever.

Or this:

No that isn’t the argument. At least for me it isn’t. Absolutely signal stealing occurred.

My argument is EVERYONE does it. I personally know OSU’s signal stealer, may or may not have lived with him before. He’s one of the best in the business. The only difference between him and Stallions, he’ll probably never get caught because he’s a next level smart type

So yes, every time OSU fans cry about signal stealing I do have a problem with that

I think i just dont view sign stealing as the issue since it really isnt even the rule that was broken… and with teams changing signs before games etc how much impact does it really have?

Dont forget that the rule that was broken was in person advanced scouting which was only enacted to prevent more wealthy schools from having an advantage not because of any sign stealing potential as it again isnt even against the rules and everyone does it.

Well that doesn’t do shit does it?

Honestly any harsher than what they are saying and i think michigan would have taken them to court… we shall see, but again for breaking a rule that was only in place to prevent competitive balance issues based on financials this seems kinda harsher than i expected tbh.

This allows the ncaa to puff out their chest but really amounts to nothing for the program… again if true

Boy undefeated national championships are nice. Losing a couple games and getting that title doesn’t have the same feel.
