What do you guys think hard Knox had to do with bad start. I think lions kind of went Hollywood and started believing all the hype. When i think back even the coaches were
aubrey pleasant and some ‘interesting’ in game coaching decisions didn’t help us at all. I’m a bit bummed it took that long to make corrections.
You’re overthinking it…. Pretty clear to me it was the defense. If the defense started out even bad, instead of historically awful, the record would be better to start the year. Hell if the Lions had even a mediocre defense those first 7 weeks they’d be looking like a playoff lock. Nobody can sustain winning with a defense that bad. Thankfully it’s turned around and so has the record.
Which I think gives even more fuel to the argument in favor of going defense with most of those premium picks in April….

Hard knocks had nothing to do w the players. It had everything to do w people buying into the hype and expecting more and being unrealistic.
We had the 3rd hardest schedule in the NFL. People were sitting here at the start of the year saying the eagles were bums and hurts would be out of the league in 3 years. We had a rough starting schedule.

Hard Knocks is not a factor. Just took this team a minute to gel, particularly the defense.

IV Red Bull Dan lost us a game.
That shit defense lost us the Seattle game. Geno is having a year, but 48? Cmon.
SOL got us on thr Swaggy goal line fumble game.
We just sucked + Belichek was the Patriots game Iggles and Buffalo…We were tied or ahead late against arguably the 2 best teams in the league.
Hard Knocks probably gave them extra cohesiveness to get through 1-6 without checking out on Dan, the tram and emotiionally.

I think they were rocked by the injury bug. The lack of cohesiveness was delayed because of it.

This season has been one helluva rollercoaster ride between Hard Knocks getting me all lathered up to laying a giant egg at 1-6 and now winning 3 out of 4 and trying to catch the rest of the horses to the post to get a wild card berth.
These emotions change by the month. Is this what being a women is like? Hey oh!

It’s also health. If we were as healthy to start the season as we are now that 1-6 start would very likely be much different. Jacobs has solidified the corner position after the disaster that’s been AO. Barnes and Joseph emergence. Along with Hutchinson development and paschal have upgraded the defensive line. Getting ragnow healthier and Jackson have boosted the line to more of what we expected.
