I canāt imagine this sits well with Disner.
This is what I thought. Iām sure he was considered, which leads me to believe he might want to stay closer to football operations than be dealing with the PR and customer experience side of things full time. He might want to be a GM.

Thatās a pretty young dude for the big chair.
Haddad was born and grew up in Adrian, Mich. before earning a bachelorās degree in history at the University of Michigan and a law degree at Columbia Law School.
After law school, Haddad served as a law clerk to Judge Barbara S. Jones of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; and practiced law at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York, where he represented a broad base of corporate and individual clients in sports, finance, media, entertainment, aviation, real estate and other sectors and industries.
Ugh, law and finance are backgrounds grossly overrepresented in executive leadership positions, and not because theyāre better prepared or more successful. At this point, Haddad is a sports executive more than anything else (14 years in the Pistons org), so Iām sure itās fine, Iāve just been historically underwhelmed by execs with that background.
This is EXACTLY what I thought of as soon as I saw the name. Kudos sir.
And of course heās bald. Is @BigNatty making these hires? 
The Fordās are going to want someone whoās going to protect their investment, and I understand that. Hopefully heās not someone who wants to interfere in football, but instead is there to assist in anyway he can.
I believe Sheila wants to keep the business side of things to the business people. The football side of the coin belongs to Brad, Disner and Dan as long as heās the HC.
Dickās job is to be a fan of the Lions and discover more ways to make the Fordās more $$ without interfering with anything related to football operations.
Disner needs a couple more stepping stones before CEO in my opinion.

The Lions do not need a CEO who knows football. They need a good staff manager who can manage both personnel, events and negotiations.
Honestly I think itās a positive he doesnāt know football. He wonāt meddle with the front office.
I donāt know him to have an opinion of him. He has a nice sports background, and a nice Detroit sports background. Weāll see how he does, but I hope the best for him.
I find the people who meddle often donāt know what they are talking about. Iām not at all saying he will, rather just commenting on that statement.
The Fordās seem to want a collaborative setup with someone who will protect their investment. If they determined Disner wasnāt that guy, thatās just fine with me. People just tend to feel a certain way when they donāt get the things they desire. I find that dynamic to be interesting going forward. Hopefully both sides handle that well.
