Awesome news! Believe it’s a 3 week practice window where he can practice and not count as a roster spot. After 3 weeks he needs to be on the 53 man roster or back to injured reserve. So sounds like he may be playing by week 7 or 8. Terrific!
Yeah, I’m shocked that he’s back at practice before October.
With that said, I think they will proceed with extreme caution so he’s likely at least a month away still from any game action and probably won’t be back to his usual self for a month after that but having a fully operational Alim down the playoff stretch would be a monster addition.
We play 3 games then bye week. So he can practice 3 weeks and be activated for the November 2nd against the Vikes which is game 8 for us if all goes well. Gives him like a month of practice and we still get him for 10 games.
Yep, that’s the exact timeline I see him on and no need to rush him anyway as Tyliek and Reader are holding it down nicely in the middle. They do really miss his interior pass rush though, that’s one facet they’re going to need in playoff environments.
I’ve said from the beginning I expect him back by Halloween. The biggest impact will be Inside Pass Rush and the ability to rotate quality big men and stay fresh. Will likely push Smith or Lacy off the roster and make it tough for Wingo to be active on gameday.
And Wingo has been inactive now without Paschal, Levi and Alim. Kinda surprising. But perhaps he is still not fully healthy either after missing most of training camp
An aggravation of his knee is a possibility. He had a knee meniscus injury in November 2024 which required surgery. Then he had another arthroscopic surgery on the same knee in the offseason implying there was still some irritation present at that time.
I recall people saying November and me saying if you dont have actual insight into his medicals maybe dont speak WITH CERTAINTY but hey if you see anywhere that I said for you not to share your opinion I would certainly apologize.. my stance for Alim was dont speak with certainty on a topic, especially medical, without the necessary information.
If it’s opinion, you have the right to say anything you want. But there is a difference between speaking with certainty that something will/wont happen, without actual insight, and calling people out for it vs saying something as opinion.
Alim’s work in the weight from years ago likely helped him recover quickly as well. Having amazing strength in the quads and hamstrings helps stabilize the knee. His 640 pound squat help make the Feldman Freak list.
