Lions first 4 picks starters?

Agreed. I like Reynolds and Raymond plenty, but I’d rather neither be given a ton of snaps. Both are better in small doses.

I’m not advocating for it, but I can see the argument for resigning Chark and going JSN high.

Reynolds had the 3rd most receptions of WRs on the team last year. Sure we would all like an upgrade at every position, but in the NFL, that doesn’t happen in a vacuum. When you spend resources on trying to fill one hole, you are taking away resources from filling another hole. And on a team that want’s to run the ball and whose #2 pass catcher last year was a RB, I’m not sure replacing what is probably at best your #3 WR is all that big of a priority. Sure they might grab a mid round guy, but I don’t think WR is the priority some people seem to think it is.

I’m thinking RG is going to be a pretty big priority for them in the draft, though hopefully not at 6. Bringing in Glasgow on a 1 year deal reminds me of Chark last year, a stop gap while the rookie (Jameson) gets it figured out. Or they could be relying in Vaitai getting healthy, but back injuries are tricky. Just look at Onzurike.

The way the talent lines up for our positional needs…
RB
OG
QB
DT
LB
In that order.

I think we need to add a WR with some juice. I think a guy like Zay Flowers would really be a weapon in this offense. I don’t want to go into next year depending on Jamo. Klief is fine for a KR and back up to Saint, Reynolds really offers nothing. We needed him last year when Chark was out and he had a bunch of problems and was inactive also. The games against NE and Dallas we had nothing. The one I can see taking a step forward is TE Mitchell. It would be nice if Jamo turns into the player we drafted him to be but I’m not counting on it.

This is how I see it, and I think it’s a really smart way to go about building a team. Get ahead of your needs and plan ahead.

I think G and CB will be in play for the early picks as the cupboard is pretty bare in those positions in 2024. Holmes could wait until 2024 before taking a RB as those guys don’t usually require much adjustment to play in the NFL.

Going to take some getting use to not needing immediate starts
