yeah if we didn’t draft a DE -then you would be bitching and crying about that. how do you figure he will never play? I’m not saying he’ll get 160 snaps, but he’ll play in some shape or form-especially considering our anemic pass rush.

Alot to like. But w a top 2 roster in the NFL it is going to be hard for him to make the 53. He is that raw. But i am pulling for him. Lions had de’s they liked but not enough to trade…they have plans to sign zadarius smith and derrick barnes new role no one has seen is one where he legitimately could get 12 sacks this coming year.

I’ve posted more than a few times that I think the addition of Williams, Lopez and then Reader/Levi will only help Hutch, the other edge and Barnes(who could be that other edge) improve on their rushing performance thus addressing the edge position without picking an edge.

I much preferred to address DT and G in the 1st two rounds and bring back ZaDarious. If we are not able to do that though, Brad would be crazy not to add someone to help rush the passer. This team is too good to risk having this poor depth at DE. If Davenport goes down again or god forbid Aidan, we would be screwed.
I am feeling pretty confident that the Lions and Zadarious had an understanding of we didn’t land a top pass rusher in the draft.

While I hope this is the case, and pardon my stupidity with cap/salary stuff, what was the Lions play in releasing him? Is he truly taking a pay cut you think, or just redoing the contract to make it more cap friendly for the Lions? Or both?
