Players get emotional when they reach their goals and especially the difficult goal of reaching the NFL. Then add in what this kid has been through to get here, moving to a new country, playing football for only five years etc etc and he has a very emotional reaction
While most people view it as the kid describing how thankful he was to the coach that drafted him to the NFL you view it as a reason to hire more security when he is let go. implying he is a threat to commit violence at that point, you may want to reconsider your thought process.
One of those is views is an outlier, doubt you will agree on which one it is.
Hey man, as a dude who literally makes a living diagnosing mental illness and instability you are gonna need ALOT more then what anyone is seeing to make such a irresponsible post. And culture plays a huge role in peopleās disposition. When you have had the upbringing he has had and seen the dangers he has seenā¦you tend to be more intense about the good stuff.
Wait, are you under the impression the pot football players are well adjusted human beings? I always just assumed you needed to have a screw loose to sign up for that particular profession and lifestyle. Especially on defense.
This dude rolls with Jesus⦠what? He referred at least three times in that interview
From his perspective (and mine for what itās worth) this guy is saying he loves his fellow man, coach, team etcā¦. Heās die for themā¦. Itās a Christian paraphrase imho
And I freaking dig it!!
Now if he starts asking for three nails and a hammerā¦. maybe we have a problem then
I see him as 4 new years of a Paschal type player and he will be a lot cheaper. Both in draft capital spent on him as well as his salary over the next 3 years after we let Paschal walk as an UFA.
Thatās the base case. Should be a solid run defender though I have some concerns that the length could inhibit him when you run straight at him. But heās a team guy, disciplined and what and heās strong as an ox so edge setting should mostly be fine. I think when Paschalās right heās a better TFL shoot the gap style of run defender (like that crucial play @KC 2 years ago).
But I think AH might be more dangerous than Paschal on the inside as a pass rusher. As of now I donāt think heās really got much to threaten the outside shoulder. Heās dynamic countering inside. But outside of scheming up stunt and loop opportunities for him I donāt know that he can weaponize that inside threat when aligned outside bc OTs wonāt really have to respect the arc. He does the power to succeed in half man situations so maybe if his hands can come along he can become a threat through the outside shoulder. I just canāt see him ever being a threat around the outside shoulder.
Like you Paschal adjacent is the most likely outcome. Or the version of Paschal that weāve seen which IMO has been effected by injury.
In the 100/100 scenario he could be a Brandon Graham type.
Excellent post, bro. Alsoā¦about this squadā¦the future looks amazing with that much youth, and so many reasonable contracts in there. Though most will outgrow their current pay rate, there is a CLEAR ability to draft more of 'em.
Brad Holmes is a secret superpower. I canāt believe how consistently he gets players that 31 other teams fail to recognize. Wow!
I loved it - I guarantee you I would conduct myself similarly. That authenticity is not seem ānormalā to the masses, and the way society had programmed us. That gratitude and passion will make him a success here ā WatchānāSee. I love the guy and all he brings, especially the wiring!
Just come out and say you have never worked your ass off for something, with little shot of actually being able to achieve it, and then having it actually come true.
His response was fine. Itās actually pretty ā ā ā ā ā ā ā endearing. This is a kid who didnāt even know what football was at the age of 18 and 5 years later heās an NFL draft pick.
The fact that you are noticing him saying āI would die for you coachā and not the more important and key reason behind the emotions in āI just wanted you to believe in me, coach,ā is a pretty big indicator that you have almost zero emotional intelligence and probably next to no ability to be empathetic.
It takes a real piece of trash to to go after a kid for having a genuine reaction after achieving something that is pretty much next to impossible for 99.99% of the humans on this planet to do.
He was my favorite DE that I liked most out of that group at the bottom. I admit I kind of forgot about him when when it got closer to the draft and we were thinking about grabbing and edge in the first 3 rounds.
