Hooker posted this right after the news broke of Kyle Allen. If I am Hooker I might want out to QB needy team a chance to compete in camp. Not sure there is a team out there besides one of the top 3 teams in the draft.
The Lions are giving Hooker a chance to compete in camp. Why does he need to leave for that?

I am just thinking to sell ticket in Tennessee they might want to trade for him because they love him down there. Let him compete in camp maybe you could do a 3rd round pick swap for hooker which would be amazing
And you know this how? Im from the carolinas. Ive seen allen play. Hooker can barely beat out a non-existant third qb. The fact that we brought in teddy off the HS field at the end of the season tells you all you need to know.
I liked the swing of the Hooker pick when it was made, first round talent dropping due to injury(and age) BUT he simply has shown nothing, and isnât trusted to throw the ball when he gets minimal garbage time. He isnât it.

Hooker is the Lions backup. This guy is a camp arm or #3 at best. Donât kid yourself otherwise.

Allen has started 19 NFL games. How many has Hooker started? He is a more experienced back up I donât think he is just a camp arm.
Yeah, he was so good that after going undrafted and picked up by the Panthers they gave him several games to start in another rebuilding year post Cam Newton, where he was so good that they decided to trade him to Washington for a 5th round pick and has only 5 spot duty injury starts in 6 seasons.
So yeah, camp arm or like I said at best QB3.

As for Kyle Allen? Will be interesting to see Allen and Hooker in the preseason games. Outside of that, I hope I do not see them holding anything but the clipboard.
âCamp armsâ donât spend their entire 7 season careers on 53 man rosters. You and many others donât seem to understand how the nfl works.
Lions signed a high school football coach for the end of the season to backup ahead of HookerâŚ. And people want to call Allen a â camp armâ.
Bluntly: I know thing a thing or two about a thing or two when it comes to Detroit and the NFL bc of my family and the connections I have with the Lions and the NFL world in general.
Besides, We have all seen a great deal of Allen tape. And it is bad. The steeler preseason game, a few starts in houston. They were all bad. He is slow to react, he takes huge hits, throws all over the place⌠I could go onâŚ

Gwynn was awesome⌠Times sure have changed though. Nowadays everyone would be trying to get him to hit more homers and not concerned about his average dropping.
Not many pure contact hitters left in the game.

Then you should know that hooker isnt it.
What I know is Allen isnât it. And Hooker is in no danger of being traded and is firmly entrenched as the number 2.
