I expect HH to be a quality legit backup next year.
He fell into the perfect situation, no pressure to play for a couple of years, get taught by the best in the league, and make some serious $$ as a great back up QB in the future.
Agreed. I think this year could still be a bit rough for him (essentially his rookie season). I think Good backup is his floor though. I think he could evolve into something with massive trade value and/or a great backup QB for a very long time. He’s 3 1/2 years younger than Goff, and while Goff will be the starter here, there is absolutely something to be said for adding 3-4 years on the end of your SB contention window…unless the handsome one can upgrade…which is never off the table. LOL
OMG I love being a lIons fan right now. My “over the top”/unrealistic prognostications become more “realistic” every day. The other day someone told someone in here we need to be more realistic about our Defense.
…Maaaannnn…I think the positive guy is more realistic than the guy with lesser expectations. I feel the same way in life in general…it’s part of why I am who I am and show up the way I do…I belive in myself and the people I have surrounded myself with. Brad’n’Dan are doing this on a very, very high level.

Word has it that he’s showing flashes… But it’s obvious when he’s thinking too much and that’s when the bad comes out. Makes sense given the one read offense he primarily ran in college. Excited to see him in preseason… Reps reps reps

NFL obviously is prettty bad at evaluating QBs and the NCAA not much better at coaching them up for NFL
So he could definitely be good and over looked
If he’s great his story is closer to Kurt Warner than Russell Wilson imo

Useful but not game changing.
Jimmy was pretty good. Got his team to a Super Bowl to lose to a guy nobody has beaten in a Super Bowl yet.
Brunell and Goff will have him playing like a Vet by the beginning of the season.
He’s been picking Bridgewater’s brain for a year.
I still think he’s starter material.
He needs live game reps. Where the defense can actually hit him and he can extend plays with his legs. Preseason games will be huge for him. I wouldn’t give Goff a single preseason rep.
I would only start Goff and the #1 offense the 1st quarter or a few series at KC for a dressed rehearsal for the season.
KC doesn’t do joint practices and they take preseason games pretty seriously. It would be a good gauge of where the team is before breaking camp.
Hooker should start the other two preseason games and play into the 2nd half of each game. Sudfeld is a vet and 3rd string QB. he doesn’t need a lot of reps.
Laporta said that the NFL games were much easier than the practices that Dan as the coaching staff set up for him… so maybe they are just testing HH’s mettle and even though he “looks” bad it’s a bit by design.
Same with Gio Manu. They are breaking him down to build him back up again. There’s absolutely no need to rush his development just so he can be a “great back up”
Luckily we’ve been blessed with great health from Goff but we’ve had much worse at back up for the past 3 or so years.
Guarantee this guy turns into a top tier starter.
