How does any other P qualify for any All Pro team? The fact that Fox hasn’t been selected yet is baloney.

This is the ultimate compliment to Coach Fipp. Without the coverage unit performing as the best, the net Avg. would not be nearly what if is.
It’s the combanation of Fox, the coverage team and coaching.

He’s never asked to make a 40 yard punt and have it downed inside the 10 or 20 because we are generally going to go for it on 4th down at that part of the field so his situation is quite different. But, you still have to kill it when called on which he has. He’s as solid as you could hope for and has helped make our special teams a real weapon.

100% correct. Fox might be the best punter in the league, but Dans propensity to go for it on 4th down once they cross the 50 is the real reason he was able to get the record.

hang time is HUGE in this too. half the time, our coverage unit is standing there waiting for the ball to come down. hahahaaaaaa…go foxy

I look at it the opposite way. Many people do not know how good Fox really is because of how things have played out with the Lions. Whenever Fox has been asked to “release the krackin” he has done it. On a different team he would be asked to launch field flipping punts more often. That would drive UP his average. Fox’s ability to crush 60+ yard BOMBS that can still be covered is absolutely mind boggling. He really is on a different level.

You can’t punt it 60 yards from midfield. If Campbell wasn’t so aggressive and punted the ball
More around mid-field, even the best punts would only net you around 40-45 yards. I can’t imagine Fox had very many touchbacks this year.
