I think we add Charlie f##king Jones and drop a RB.

That’s 12 dline players.

Edit: It’s 11, I need my eyes checked.

Lions are 17th in the waiver order. Going to literally be a thousand cuts today, they must have a few in mind they hope get to them.

Gotta happen. Him or someone else. Might be the situation in place with Dortch…see if we get X player. If Not, come on back.

Sums it up for me

Saylors and Small returning Kicks/Punts?

That WR room is awfully thin unless there are changes tomorrow like Pacheco on IR and then Dortch is resigned.

Or Pacheco’s health situation is dicey. I would like us to have more juice in that room outside of Gibbs but that has long been a complaint of mine.

I personally hope we add a WR, RB (doubtful I know), and a DB.

I may be wrong here, but I think if they put Rolder on IR today (unless they designated him to return - they get 2 and have used one on Mays), that would end his season (same as Pacheco). My guess is that one or both of them go to IR tomorrow and we sign back Dortch and/or an additional cut from today to replace them. Or I could be way off my rocker. Time will tell.

And if it is, that group of backups is disgusting.

I’ve been pretty consistent about my belief that for a team that loves to run the ball we underinvest in the back end of that room. It doesn’t take much.

Though we don’t really know where Law fit in. Some thought he might have been a scat back/WR hybrid.

Bit of a trip that the “deepest WR room we’ve very had” only has 4 in the initial 53. And given Tesla’s struggles, suddenly doesn’t look deep at all.

Something is incoming at WR.

I was of the group who liked the Pacheco add, but really hoped that wasn’t it. Was pretty shocked we didn’t draft one after Pacheco was the only FA added. Even though I know you and others didn’t like the draft class.

Yup, Dortch is most likely back and will replace either Rolder/Pacheco who go to IR. Possible more moves, but that at a minimum is my guess.

Every year a vet running back on the street comes in for a team mid season and is productive.

There’s more competent running backs in the world than roster spots. The dude who was the 3 on the best Lions team in modern history is on the street. Push comes to shove call him

I don’t care about Greg Dorstch or RB3 at all and neither should anyone else. If they matter then the season it off the rails

The most interesting thing about this is they have went away from their body type on the dline and that tells me we are doing something different. We’ll see if its better but I’m excited

I agree something is incoming, and also I’d say it IS a sign the WR room is deep. Basically, the Lions are saying we need to protect these 4 WR’s, but we know that with our WR’s 5-7, even if one or two get claimed, we can still bring back another guy on PS who is ready to step in at a moments notice.

WR and CB are two positions that get absolutely flooded during cut downs. WR in particular has been a position teams have been able to get guys through cut down day. Dan and Brad have said repeatedly, they have good intuition on which guys they can cut, and bring back on PS. I have no issues trusting them on this.
